I went in July as a parental helper with my daughter's year 3 group. I cannot rate this place highly enough. We marched through Chester city to the amphitheatre like Roman soldiers with our wonderful guide who kept the children in check. He was fun, and very well informed on all things Roman. After a battle to the death between 2 teachers were returned to the centre. After lunch we were treated to a horrible histories style experience of Roman life. What 8 year old doesn't enjoy hearing that Doctors would smell and drink urine to diagnose illnesses!! With an excavation site on the premises too, this place is well worth a visit. The children, and adults, had a fab time!!

Cute little experience. The kids enjoyed its interactive aspects and some lovely collections to look at! Especially loved the excavation site!

Staff are fantastic and super helpful. I arrange to take a class on a school trip here and without having to ask the staff offered me a walk around and showed me all the facilities available at the centre

Great place to take kids or visiting tourists on a wet day in chester. The exhibits are very fun and the history is fascinating
