A real aladdin's cave of diy supplies and friendly expert advice.

Always helpful and knowledgeable, if they can't help they'll tell you who can.

Brilliant old fashioned and traditional hardware shop. Knowledgeable staff who can find you almost anything you require. If you just want half a dozen screws then that's all you need to buy, not packets of hundreds like the big DIY stores.

If they haven't got it, you probably don't need it!

I recently needed replacement parts for my stove. Manufacturers quoted me 60 days!!!! Defty's got it for me the next day!! Great team! Lively and sociable, very knowledgeable too. I've since gone back and ordered the rest I need! Well done Louise!.

Wonderful gem of a shop. How they should be. Helpful owners, nearly always have what you want and service with a smile. How a hardware shop used to be and a credit to the town.

Been all over to find 2.5mtrs of 10mm cable but could only buy it on long reels, but at defty's, I got what I wanted

Good though not as comprehensive as it used to be.  Often used to go there not expecting them to stock something a little obscure but finding they had it.... Recently only a 80% hit rate hence not 5 stars. Otherwise shop & staff great.

Proper old fationed diy shop... Great staff and sells everything.....

Very helpful staff and have all your DIY and wood needs covered. Would recommend.
