I grew up drinking in this pub, in fact it was the first pub I ever got served in when I was 15! It was always busy and had amazing staff. However after my visit on Saturday, it’s fallen down so far! Saturday at 2pm we had booked for, all 5 of us were crammed on a small table, fridges were empty and a very limited selection. Food was very disappointing, my rare steak was chewy and raw, one of our party didn’t get her meal it was only a chicken burger the burger was dry and had definitely been sat under a heat lamp, the two deserts we ordered 2 x vanilla ice creams took 15 minutes to be delivered to the table. Won’t be returning until they get their act together.
Managed to get a table, as quite a lot were already reserved. Ordered and took advantage of one of their offers. Food didn't take too long, and was enjoyable. Two mains - a hunters chicken and a mega mixed grill.<b>Food</b>: 3/5
Went with two little ones for lunch. I ordered the Mac Daddy mac n cheese, bacon on a sirloin steak, chips, mushrooms, onion and tomato. I asked for it medium-rare but it came medium-well. I'm not too fussy so ate it anyway, that would be my only criticism. The little ones enjoyed their children's meals which are very good value. Great staff and atmosphere - nice place for a pub lunch or dinner. Kid-friendliness: A good menu and the patrons are friendly. Glad to visit a pub without loud swearing in front of the children. Parking: Remember to put your reg into the tablet as it&#39;s a managed car park. It&#39;s by the door on the left as you go in.
KEIRON!!!!! thanks for putting up with us..... well me! We all had a brilliant time celebrating my birthday and the 4 bottles of rose went down a treat. especially as i hadnt drank in a while impeccable service, stunning food. Will definitely come back. Will try to behave next time

Super meal at Deer's Leap. All the staff were so friendly, the guy with glasses at the bar couldn't do enough for us when we had our food. Really friendly pub. Good value for money. Highly recommended.
Food was hot and tasty, good portion, well presented and service was quick. The bar and waiting staff were friendly and polite, lovely to chat with and had good banter with customers, didn't give 5 stars because the place looks a little tired in places, ripped wallpaper, woodwork needs painting but staff made up for that Parking: Park outside without problem Wheelchair accessibility: Easy for wheelchair as flat surface
Ordered fish and chips for my daughter and myself told there was none available half hour after ordering another couple came in and ordered the same and they were served with fish and chips I had to have hunters chicken and was very poor very small piece of chicken breast little cheese and a very small piece of bacon must have had a desert spoon of sauce did av a terrine of sauce which turned out to be gravy and that was awful food was very poor for the price would not recommend after my experience.... We looked forward to going waited three weeks as daughter was not well we shud av stayed home
Great Pub had a lovely meal very reasonable prices. Lovely friendly atmosphere and welcoming helpful staff. Highly recommended.
