Great little gem of a place in Edinburgh. The rustic/Harry Potter vibes you get from visiting here are definitely here. Busy for tourists but not over crowded at this time of year. Need to wait to get a good vantage point for a photograph. When I was here there was fresh coffee stall. Beautiful placeVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The best of Edinburgh! So pretty and picturesque. I have been to this place twice in two years. The beauty of the village is so simple yet unique. It’s a good 30min walk from the Waverley station. It’s a straightforward walk and a must do in Edinburgh. If you are visiting Edinburgh, please go to this place early morning so that you can spend a nice peaceful time here. The river, the forest and the houses are like a dream. Check the pictures if you don’t believe me! A lot of people come here to see the village and it can get crowded so bear that in mind. Also there is good elevation towards the beginning of the village and it can be a little tricky during rains. Wear good shoes for the walk.
About a 30 minutes walk from Edinburgh castle, this charming village is an oasis of natural beauty. At the bottom of the hill, before you cross the bridge, there is a nature trail that winds along the river. Just a couple hundred feet down the path, another world awaits you. The sounds of the city are replaced by bird song and the river. The sweet smell of elder flowers permeates the air, and you can easily forget that you are in a city at all. Please note that there are no shops. This is a residential area with a beautiful nature trail.
A picturesque village in the heart of Edinburgh not too far away from the center. great for taking pictures of houses and the river passing makes it more mystic in style. Definitely a place to visit if you enjoy walking up and down the road. The village is small but its worth the visit i do recommend to go in the morning so it wont be too crowded and you can still have time to enjoy the tranquility of the place alone you will definitely love it

Me and my kids founded this place when just went for a walk without a plan. Nice place, just on my own travel experiences, with all due respect not breathtaking. It's clean, tidy place. A lot of houses are renovated and it seems that area lost It's old cozy atmosphere. We continued to walk by the river in a rainy weather. That walk we enjoyed more, 'cause it really felt like out of the city. So worth to visit
Really nice scenic area, we arrived after hours and the shops had closed. Not a lot to Deans Village but I am of the understanding that you should visit during the day for really appealing cafes and alike. It was a relaxing area and a nice walk up the creek to Deans village
Lovely wee village in Edinburgh, totally worth a trip. There’s a lovely trail near which goes along the river if you want to stroll further. Nice walk from the old centre, we came back with a bus n 8 if I recall correctly which was very fast.Visited onWeekday
A cute little ancient village in Edinburgh. I would recommend going for a walk on the waterside path and to move from one bridge to the other during a nice sunny day. The village has peculiar houses with colors and an old building that looks like a castle or from the royal family. Very close you can also find the oldest swimming pool club in Edinburgh, really stunning.
Cute little quiet town easy walking distance from Edinburgh city center. Nice for a walk or a little picnic! The weather was nice so there were a decent amount of people around but felt safe and still cozyVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
