A different place. Top floor lightning and relax. Downstairs soft and warm light. Really like the raw walls, tubes, wooden stuff wich they create a medieval atmosphere. A good place for a different evening if you are a walking dead or Got fans . Still a good pub with Planty choise of Vegeterian and gf food. Short menu but good quality. Service ok, friendly staff. A bit Overpriced in my opinion. After all worth it the price . Not a Everyday place. I would come back in the future.
My vegan gf buddy was excited when she heard about this place having a vegan menu, sadly it wasn't exclusively veggie and vegan, we arrived and it was quiet we were told there was a technical issue and the kitchen wasn't open for half an hour in reality it was only 10 mins or so but it didn't stop people leaving. so we ordered drinks and then only opted for the sweet potato chips due to the lack of vg gf choice I felt the staff a little rude and or sarcastic so it's a doubt we'll return, also a terrible entitled name for a eaterie
Booked downstairs bar of Daylight Robbery for my birthday. We had the bar area and a separate dancefloor to ourselves. The space was perfect! It's hard to find a good space like this in Edinburgh! Truda, the manager, could not have been more helpful & Andy the owner sorted us out with a great sound system. Truda had everything set up for us when we arrived, and her and her team were amazing. The beer selection is great! Also, the burger I had while waiting for folk to arrive was up there with the best of them. All in all an awesome night, made better by attentive staff & cool space.
I came here to try the vegan aubergine and chips and I was not disappointed, the service was super friendly and quick, with lots of interesting vegan options, and the aubergine dish was really really good. It's great to see vegan food which is really innovative like this and not just replacing meat/fish for something directly, I do enjoy that sometimes, but I think the food here at Daylight Robbery shows much better skill and care. The prices are also very reasonable and there was a great selection of drinks too, definitely one to visit!
Fantastic bar/pub/food at really reasonable prices too considering how central it is. We also hired their basement for our wedding reception and we really couldn't have made a better choice!! Amazing space/set up and hosting!!
Great bar with wonderful atmosphere. Recently refurbished and boasts a bar and eating area upstairs. Downstairs opens at weekends and for events and has a very industrial vibe, there is another bar and ample seating. Staff are very friendly and it's a hidden gem.
We went for the game of thrones themed pub downstairs: unfortunately, this felt pretty cheap and disappointing - the cocktails we're really bad and expensive for what they were. A real shame. The waiting staff were lovely however but the pub itself was just a waste of time.
Me, sally and Loulou the dog just love this place. My particular praise goes to the staff, who are all so lovely. If people make a place, then the staff here are it. The food is fabby, the drinks are great lots of choice and the atmosphere amazing. Cant wait for my next cocktail, craft ale or Craft Gin!!!!!. A fully deserved 5 star from us. Loulou says thank you for being so nice to her..woof!
Really good beer and food. A good selection of craft beers on tap and loads of varied bottles on the menu. Best if you can get seated upstairs.
The place upstairs looks lovely but we went specifically to visit the downstairs game of thrones pop up and it was more than underwhelming. Don't recommend taking a trek there especially that more likely than not there will be a long wait to get in
