Having been very loyal to this shop for many years, I am really disappointed that my wife came home next to tears after the experience she had today. She had booked a valuation which didn't get entered in their book - an oversight in the shop it seems. Rather than deal with it with courtesy and respect, the gentleman made no apology and, in front of other customers made my wife feel humiliated by his arrogance and was told that he was far too busy to deal with it as he had Burghley customers to consider. He then said it might take 8-10 weeks before he could do a valuation. Again, with no apology when my wife had taken time off work to drive there specially. This will be the last time we shop there. Shame that it seems that a few Burghley days per year is obviously more important to Dawsons than local, local customers.
Wonderful jewellers, unique pieces including some delightful antique jewellery. Lovely people too.
Took 4 rings in to be altered, repaired and cleaned. From the minute I walked in the service was professional and helpful. Was kept informed by telephone throughout whole process, was alot less cost wise than I had anticipated and far quicker than expected. Nothing less than I expected from such a well respected jewellers and wouldn't hesitate to use again Thank you
Amazing and honest advice, great Aftersales and have genuinely looked after me for over 20 years. A stone came out of an eternity ring and it was fixed without question. They will give an honest and realistic appraisal I wouldn’t go anywhere else
I've purchased from Dawson's in the past and found the experience very pleasant - the wrapping is lovely! However their attitude and customer service levels have slipped and coupled with the unpleasant comments and the general feeling they give out of not being good enough to shop there, I will not be revisiting. I recently took a Gucci bracelet to them see if it could be mended and was asked "Huh you sure it's real?". It is and perhaps I can understand being asked however the person querying this could have been less rude and more considered in their forthright opinion. A real shame as it's a lovely jewellers but the staff who work there would do well to remember it's the customer's who ensure the shop remains in business.
Always brilliant service and sell the most beautiful jewellery. Truly wonderful service and exceptional after care. Highly recommended.
My mum came here to have some jewellery valued and the service was appalling. The older gentleman was tossing it around "fake, fake, scuffed, old". Horrendous customer service and made my mum feel awful. We have since gone to another jewellers and had excellent valuations. Would not recommend at all.
