Our family cat, Susie, was looked after for all of her long life by Davison Vets. And so we took her here, finally, when she became ill for the last time. We experienced such care and sensitivity from all of the staff at the practice, and we were never rushed in any way. Both of the Vets we saw were immensely kind and considerate, but also utterly professional and nothing was too much trouble. I can’t thank everyone enough for the time they took to explain everything to us, at what was a very sad time- Thank You all for helping us through it.
We had to register with this vet in quite a rush an oversight on my part there, as our otherwise perfectly healthy hamster took a fast turn for the worse over the weekend. From the get-go we were met with compassion and understanding from the receptionists on the phone and in person, and the lovely vet who saw to our little dude. Alicia, the lovely vet who saw him was gentle, honest, and reassuring despite the situation. After a lifetime of pet ownership before moving to Nottingham, just from this experience I can confidently say this will be our only go to vet in the coming future. Thank you all for the reassuring experience.
Alicia did my reactive dogs entropion surgery in may. She was fantastic and had the patience of a saint. Extremely polite and helpful and my dogs eyes have never been better. She made me feel at ease and as comfortable as you can be about your baby going under anesthetic. Can't sing her praises enough. She deserves a pay rise. To some up everyone needs a Alicia in their dogs life
I've tried to register at these Vets, BUT sadly after being bought out by the big corporates such as CVS UK Ltd they are clearly and merely about money... The true ethos and ethics of vets has been lost. Some 8 years ago after the Priory vets CVS misdiagnosed my cat and mistreated him, and after they played with him for months costing me an absolute fortune in guessing what the cause was off him losing weight, I had to take him to the Derby referrals for expert advise and care in the end, he was diagnosed with fiv a simple test that CVS failed to do.. After CVS admitted that they could have done far better and had "learnt" from their mistakes they still insisted I pay the final outstanding amount of £180 which I refused I felt that this was a fair price for them to pay for their errors and mistakes and a fair price to pay to learning at the emotional expense of my cat.. But greedy as they are they tried to threaten me and get the 180... However, it all went cold, but clearly CVS black listed me rather than admit their errors and show remorse and compassion, so clearly they are NOT an ethical or fair company to deal with with no moral fibre at all. My cat died in the end, but I though I would try to register our two cats with Davidson's but since they've been bought out the vendetta from another vet had been carried through. So, I'm my opinion avoid these large corporate very groups as they have to moral compass and love the treat their customers badly when things go wrong and you complain... There are plenty of other brilliant vets out there but steer away from any CVS affiliated vets, that's clearly the takeaway from todays experience, and boy are the staff rude and nasty when it seems we are the bad guys, this is a millennial trait that days... But now, some 8 years later I'm registering a cat at a different vet, Davidson's, but they tell me I'm owning a debt so would not accept me... Not to worry, there are many other good vets around thank goodness.. But clearly, these Vets that are selling out to these big corporate entities which are destroying the veterinary services as we knew them, by massively inflating prices and exploiting our love for animals, and they are only interested in making money. Gone have the days when being a vet was a vocation, now it's about making a quick buck and getting wealthy regardless of what they try to make us believe, it's just lies... So, whilst animals are being abandoned due to over inflated vet costs, and VAT charges, whilst rescue centres are bursting at the seams due to unwanted pets due to the fact that vets want to make big money, and people who are suffering for to the loss of their pets due to GREED... The world has gone crazy...! My beef with CVS was the mistreatment and scamming during my cats illness and I wasn't going to pay the final bill due to the extortionate charges for nothing they did positively. No apology from them at the time, but I see this debt has carried through so any other bets bought out by CVS are à problem now. My cat had Fiv, they failed to diagnose it which cost me thousands in unnecessary guess work resulting in me having to take my cat elsewhere..!! I said I would clear the issue but they are not interested, so clearly CVS are being vindictive like big companies do. So, my attitude with CVS is stuff you clearly you have no conscience, nor remorse for what you did and you have the upper hand to punish me when in fact I should have been sued you...! Down with CVS and down with capitalism... I'm sure though that this goes against the ethics and ethos of the veterinary college which I'll be contacting, and frankly, the veterinary service needs to be reformed and regulated properly... No one at Davidson was prepared to discuss it either arrogantly... So, down with them too
I think this is important to share and haven’t been able to for a while due to grief, a vet here mis diagnosed my cat who had a sudden terminal illness. They said she was fine, a bit underweight but fine and they charged us for tests. She died the next day after we took her to an emergency vet. This not only caused great emotional harm, but a lot of money which also didn’t help matters. We complained to Davisons, they told us to leave the practice and didn’t even inform the vet responsible for the blunder as apparently they didn’t want to upset her. How absolutely pathetic is that?! She’s a professional who should be able to know when they made a mistake and grow from it. But no. WE were punished. The grieving family who were then told to leave to avoid negative feedback. Do not go to this veterinary practice and expect to be treated with any kind of respect. They have good reviews because they manipulate it.
4th REVIEW: Visited for neutering and chipping of kitten, pic 4, grey puss, 1st proper non covid visit for an op, full visit with the vet, great after care, and Onderon is doing brilliant. So very happy with Davison... 3rd REVIEW: 3rd and 4th vivst for microchipping... Early on both visits but seen to straight away, another extremely satisfying visit, and Dathomir has had his first visit tuxedo cat pic Got another visit tomorrow which I'm sure will be equally brilliant... Update, it was. 2nd REVIEW. 2nd visit for neutering of my kitten Ilum pic. white kitty, she is doing well, and another informative visit, full of helpful details for post op. These guys are excellent. As mentioned, Ilum is recovering well. 1st REVIEW. Only visited once so far and despite social distancing, meant I wasn't with my puss when he was looked over, he was very relaxed. And I obviously don't hold that against Davison, just the way of things... Overall, brilliant, wanted to know all about him, very informative, and they finally have my cats name spelt right, and they only asked once.... Previous vets, 3 times and still wasn't right.... Also, Korriban black kitty is well, no repeats of his issue : Thank you
Waste of Money waste of time ... not providing correct information on vaccination needed for travelling and blaming the clinet to know what is needed on the other hand made me pay 115 pounds for 2 other vaccinations. Excuse given reception is not trained or they sont know which vaccine is required to travel abroad
I wish I had been here all along. I've really struggled to find a reliable practice since moving to nottingham, but I finally made the switch to Davison, partly as they're closer than my previous practice. Such a lovely building and wonderful staff. Rob vet was cheerful, helpful, and engaged. So much easier on my moggie. Thank you!
I was with this vets since 2009, and for my rabbits. Mr Davison was wonderful, as was the staff. Shame that when he sold the business that the friendliness on reception was lost, as was the expertise from the vets. From 2016 I had to deal with one of my rabbits ear problems, misdiagnosed, untreated, and had to source the right diagnosis and advice from other exotic vets. Many emails sent to advise what should be done, and in the end they only listened and dispensed the right medication on the advice of an expert on rabbits, and tbh I knew what meds they needed after having so many rabbits over 30 years after coming acrosssnuffles and respiratory issues before. My rabbit was left permanently with an inoperable problem, which was managed by myself over her remaining years on permanent meds as advised by a specialist. When the same bunny was 2 days overdue with an accidental pregnancy and I could feel 2 big kits, I asked for an emergency c section as I knew they were too big to be given birth to naturally. I was chastised on the phone for getting her pregnant, and told to wait a few more days despite she was already 2 days overdue. As a result, the babies died inside her. As predicted, 2 large kits were taken out on her being spayed. They would have survived had the vet acted on the day I called. No apology. Following years saw more reception staff being rude, payments lost that i paid, but hounded for it. Ridiculed to be a debter, despite always paid my bill, except onc3 in 2013 whilst with the original owners of the vets, due to a hospitalisation issue for me, but in the ,ast few years, treated like a crimnal as if I were to run off without payment. Then new rules brought in since last feb to pay extra for claims put in with insurance company and more rudeness when being treated like a criminal for payments made out to be late, yet either they called me or I called them a d always payment made. Recent call I was being told that claims need to be over £100 for each product/condition, which wasn't true, and then called by the practice manager with every excuse to not offer any service at all and told to find a new vet because of so called break down in communication. Maybe if the staff were not so rude and condescending, that'd help. But, I duly noted behaviour getting worse once I had to ask for other vets to advise on treatment and then Davisons agreed to dispense. Incidentally, the medication itself has a mark up of 4x the cost on where you can get it online. I said today about arranging for a prescription so I could do this. But the practice manager was adamant at deciding I should go elsewhere and her words were she was sorry I felt the way I did, meaning victimised. I assured it wasn't how I "felt", but how things actually were. In the end, I got fed up with her excuses and condescension and hung up on her.
Very unusual times during covid but staff at the surgery have done their best to deal with the situation and ensure out pets are getting help they need. Very happy and Sox is feeling a bit better today. Thank you.
