Having had a very negative experience with Abbey Oak Co-op funeral services, we walked over the road to Buckminster Funerals to see if they could help. Paul greeted us and it immediately felt that he cared and wanted to do his best for us. He was extremely caring, patient and professional. And it was about £1500 cheaper than Abbey Oak, for exactly the same services. On the day everything went really smoothly. It was a very personal and professional service and I would highly recommend them.
I have meant to leave this review for quite some time but better late than never. My sister passed away in December 2019 and I have to say the care and attention to detail given by Diana and the team was second to none. We lost our dad a year before and although we were happy with the funeral directors we used, we wish we had found Buckminster first. Nothing was too much trouble and Diana particularly went the extra mile. Not had to organise a funeral in my life other than my dad's and sister's and hope not to for a very long time again but wouldn't hesitate in recommending Buckminster. A belated thanks to you all.
Absolutely impeccable service from Buckminster funerals who I entrusted with my late father during Summer 2020. I highly recommend the service provided and also the overall cost which was very competitive. The latter can be very important, it has to be said, especially if there is a sudden death in the family and you are concerned about the cost of a funeral. It can be very stressful especially when emotions are high. It was the first time I had had to arrange a funeral and I met Simon Cotton literally just as my father had died and I was not really 'taking much in' because I was completely numb. Nothing was too much for the team Diane, Paul.., they are all extremely empathic individuals, everything was punctual for the funeral and as I live abroad responses to my emails leading upto the funeral date were immediate and my phone calls were always answered after about 1 ring!! Buckminsteralso ensured that all the logistics concerning my father's post mortem examination went to plan and without any issues. They were also able to fetch and safeguard my father's ashes until coming back to the UK Covid restrictions. Finally, Buckminster put me in contact with a wonderful gentleman called Martyn Stokes for a non religious funeral service. Nothing was too much and he was very patient with me I was having trouble writing the eulogy due to emotions. When I couldn't find a good quality excerpt from the 1966 World cup final England against Germany for my dad's funeral service, Martyn made sure he found one !! The service Martyn gave was excellent, he is extremely articulate with a beautiful voice and is able to speak of your loved one as if he knew the person himself!! The whole team have been extremely professional, I highly recommend, and you won't be disappointed!! Sarah.
Such a smooth well run process. From start to finish the Buckminster made us feel relaxed and in control. Every aspect was covered right from the start with Diana talking us through the process to the guys that came and collected Dad right through to Paul who guided me through the service. Thank you for making a difficult time so stress free.
Paul and his team did a fabulous job today for our mum/mother in laws funeral. Extremely professional from start to finish , made the whole experience seem very personal to them too which made all the difference .. can recommend them 110%

We have found Lisa and all of the staff at Buckminster to be extremely supportive throughout our recent bereavements. Unfortunately we had two, our Dad passed away followed by our elder brother 6 days later. All of the staff were wonderful, helping out with both services. We had a cremation and burial, these were tailored perfectly to their individual character. We would like to thank you all and highly recommend your services.
Thank you to Buckminster Funerals. They have arranged a dignified and loving funeral for our dad. Everything we requested was not too much trouble. All the staff we spoke to were caring and the celebrant booked was incredible. Thank you all again for making a special day
If you have lost a loved one you know what a difficult time it is having to plan a funeral. I would NOT recommend buckminster as i planned my fathers funeral with them which we thought had been planned well at first, until the day of the funeral when he turned up with just his coffin in the hurst no flowers. You could imagine how hard it was for the family to deal with this stress the morning of his funeral with not even a call from Buckminster to warn us or to try and sort it out themselves. After nearly a 40 minute wait outside our house the flowers eventually turned up. We had spent over £400 on flowers with a different company and an extra £2500 with Buckminster on his funeral. After investigation the flower company had turned up a little late after the funeral cars had left why did we not get a call from buckminster to tell us the flowers hadnt turned up instead they was given the wrong address from Buckminster to deliver the flowers to where the hurst was waiting instead they were driving around a different estate for almost 20 minutes until the flower company took the initiative to phone the family to confirm address, again we had not recieved 1 single call from Buckminster. The flower company also said that the driver was told by buckminster staff not to approach the family when delivering the flowers as he would get lynched. This is a total discrace as we was just greatful that my farther had his flowers for his funeral. The flower company did take responsibility for the flowers being late and has offered a refund which i feel is great customer service as some responsibility has been raken unlike buckminster . The customer service from buckminster especially lisa is a disgrace we have not had a single apology and we was told she was busy that morning dealing with another family so my dads funeral was obviously not her priority so if you have booked a funeral with them lets hope no one walks into the office the morning of their funeral as they obviously cant deal with 2 things at once and cant work out their priorities also after discussing this with lisa she become quite argumentative which is not the customer service you expect when planning a funeral again not a single apology for the stress this had put on the family. I feel that this company was not bothered with our family after the booking was made they obviously knew they had our money already and was more interested in securing future bookings. I am absolutely apaulled by the service we have been given and wouldn't want anybody going through the stress we have dealt with at such a difficult time. i would advise to go to a company that actually cares about your loved ones.
What can I say x From start to finish I could not fault Buckmister Funerals. I would not hesitate in recomending them. Lisa was so lovely and caring. They did everything I needed for my mums funeral Could not have asked for anything more Thank You Buckminster Funerals Lisa X
