Love their Keys , they used to sell RST and Walsall keys hence the broken bits !! Yes don't touch those Keys anymore as they are poor ! But Wow they now produce their own Mortice keys and they are the best on the market.. Try and you will Buy Ps the service is Great , they have a new Technical person Tony and he knows all , well he knows all the questions I have asked him so far . Keep up the Great Work Davenport's

This is typical of their mortice blanks, poor welding and inconsistent gauging

A few years back they were pretty good. A full range of brass cylinder blanks, all made in house in the UK. If you invested in their keyboards then a particular hook number would equate to a particular brass HD blank. Then sadly a while back the rot started, you would order a blank expecting the very same exact brass HD blank that you were replacing and but an equivalent steel blank from another manufacturer would arrive in its place. Normally a blank you could buy cheaper elsewhere too! Then there are the mortice keys, they used to be good but now very poorly welded, the bits detach quite often. You have to stress test each blank before you start cutting or risk the bit detaching half way through. I am guessing, and they can correct me here if I am wrong, but I think they source most of their blanks from China these days. Davenport, I would love to hear your response... And we the trade, would love you to roll back to the standards you had a few years ago.
