Visited in early February, very quiet as before the season really began for things to open. The staff were very informative, very friendly, explained about the history of the area and about the building we were in. I bought some things from the gift shop, the pricing was cheaper than what I was expecting! Where I come from an information center like that would charge twice as much if not more! There was a good art gallery inside, ofc those were indeed where the prices would be of a higher value 😊😉 I would recommend a visit here if you get the chance to visit the area .. it's worth a visit here and you can make a day of it as lots of places to explore in the area and near by! Very informative, as you would expect, very clean inside, well looked after.

A great chance to dress up like Sherlock Holmes or WhatsApp always have something going on old and new a good shop we can buy maps and compasses and souvenirs friendly staff it's the best one on Dartmoor in my opinion

Excellent centre full of information, a must before you had out onto Dartmoor itself.

An excellent visitors centre. Exhibitions about Dartmoor are very informative. There is also an exhibition about Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of the Baskervilles, with opportunities you dress up! Also to be found here is a good shop with gifts and maps. A must visit if you are exploring Dartmoor and wish to find out more.
