The staff were very helpful and attentive, the toilets were clean and in full working order, there are a lot of trains, there was a manned ticket office, there was a coffee wagon in the car park - the downside is the station layout; the staircase and bridge are narrow, and access to Dartford town centre is compromised by the dual carriageway road outside, which cannot be crossed easily.
My son who is a disabled adult has a freedom pass . I have checked with South eastern who has confirmed to me that disabled freedom pass can be used on south eastern train to Dartford before 9:30am and during peak times . As he travels to school via train , he gets stopped and threatened by the rail staff at the barriers every single time. He was even made to pay again for tickets twice . I really want the Dartford station head to take ownership and resolve this issue . As a young adult who is not an independent walker and relies on crutches to walk he struggles everyday to be independent this includes literally dragging himself up the stairs of the station when the lift doesn’t work as no one is there to call for help and then to encounter such nasty behaviour for staff is totally unacceptable
Good station with strong connectivity to London, there is train every 5 minutes.nnThe station also has toilets, reasonably cleans. There are lifts for all platforms.nnIt also has some stores inside for you you to quick grab and eat.nnThere are multiple ticket windows at the entrance.
Dartford Station is served by Southeastern and Thameslink trains which go towards London Charing Cross, London Bridge, Gravesend and many other destinations. Coming inside the station the ticket hall area is a average size with not many ticket barriers. Behind the ticket barriers are toilets and lifts to the platforms. The staircases are narrow and dark when reaching the platform part of the platforms are very narrow and bend. The station staff are rude and always on there phones. Dartford Station could do with a upgrade and better staff here you can use oyster here.
Worst station to commute, literally used it for over 20 years and gets worse and when you assume the delays and poor service can’t get worse, constant issues most days, unfortunately no avoiding this station aa all my trains pass through daily but yeah it’s becoming a daily task to ensure I have to get 2 trains before the one I intended to get, they need to buck there ideas up with this line as it’s ludicrous.
