Daniel is such a great guy! He is very personal with guests, telling stories of his travels learning about food and describing about each dish that he creates. All of the food that we had was amazing! We are from the US, and this has been the best dining experience we’ve ever had. Vegetarian options: Appetizers, main dish, and many sides available.
Loved it .... and we feel a bit guilty for not having cone back sooner. But we will be back - soon! Super, fresh delicious food served with aplomb by that perfect host/chef/patron Daniel himself. Such a hard working man I really don't know how he does it. All our dishes were just perfect and served hot to table, a sure sign of freshly cooked food. Long may this great little restaurant continue.
Eating at Daniel's was not only the highlight of our trip to Dublin, it was the best dining experience my partner and I have had. Neither of us had experienced such an intimate and personal restaurant like this before. Daniel greets you himself, explains his menu, takes your order, prepares and serves it. He is no nonsense in a good way, and you can tell he takes great pride in his food and his restaurant. The ambience is classic and cozy, with soft lighting and lovely music. Daniel's passion for what he's doing here shines through even in the way he arranges the tables and the small touches on them. His cooking is sublime and straightforward, classic French dishes and techniques that he'll be happy to explain to you. It's classic cuisine without the pretension. Over the course of two visits to his restaurant, we had king scallops, fish cakes our favorite starter, crayfish cocktail, fillets of pork, chicken kiev, sole goujons for Americans-"fish sticks", but done beautifully, lobster thermidor first time trying this dish and it was fantastic, and delicious desserts- fried ice cream filled crepe and brown bread pudding with liquer. We also had some fantastic wine that Daniel recommended from a winery he's personally visited. Both times we went, we ended up spending about 100€, and we agreed it was the best 100€ we spent in Dublin. Beyond the food, what really made our experience was sitting and talking with Daniel about food, restaurants, travels. Everything about it brought tears of joy to our eyes. It was the perfect way to end our trip, and I certainly hope he'll be there the next time we're in Dublin. Cheers Daniel, and best wishes for your endeavors. Hope to see you again soon. -Jackson and Nick
had a truly fantastic meal with the charming Daniel explaining all the dishes gorgeous accompanying wines to all the fabulous tasty seafood a delightful place and will be back again Lobster thermidore and scallops we recommendFood: 5/5
Daniel's Restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed his food, his company, and his wine. The salmon salad, fish entree with Daniel's name, and scallops were fantastic. We usually don't all order our own dessert. However, with homemade ice cream and a unique fried ice cream, we all indulged. No regrets here. The dessert wine was also a perfect pair. Plan to take your time, enjoy fresh ingredients, and enjoy Daniel's company. This was special!
Excellent food and impeccable hospitality. Each and every dish that we had was amazing, cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you Daniel! p.s I forgot to take pictures of the mains but they were so good
We have been going to Daniel’s for many years now and always have enjoyed the wonderful food. Daniel is a fantastic chef and has that personal touch, the menu has something for everyone. The quality is excellent and such good value. We had the lobster thermidor which was just amazing. I can’t recommend Daniels enough and can’t wait to return soon.
This place is like a time machine to traditional classic sophisticated dining. The food here is top drawer and you can taste the prep time and hard work gone into everything. This is retro old school classic territory. Daniel's is dining time travel at it's best.Food: 5/5
