Overall a very nice meal. I had the chicken Shish and my partner had the vegetarian moussaka, both were very nicely cooked, seasoned and presented and more than generous portions. Service was quick and attentive and the prices are very reasonable. That being said, I resent being charged £1.50 for a bit of garlic sauce that, at any other Mediterranean restaurant I’ve ever been to, is served with the dish. Would visit again
Packed restaurant on a saturday evening. Nice service by very smiling and welcoming waitraisses. Order was taken swiftly and we did not wait too long for our food. All food served was excellent and good size portions. Will definitely re-visit.
The enormous starter plates seem to have shrunk but the fall in the quality is the greater concern. It's now like the meze selection from a supermarket deli counter. The formerly excellent tabbouleh most notable by its absence. All still okay just uninspiring. The grills though are as good as ever. Well flavoured and seasoned, a very generous portion and cooked to marvellous succulence. This place is good value, helped by the short but well priced wine list. If you don't know much about Turkish wine who does?! you could be pleasantly surprised. No room for dessert!
We have ordered and eaten at Damak Restaurant from the very beginning when they opened until now. Today was the last order we are going to buy from them. Reason: You never get what you ordered. They messed us about every time we have ordered from them in the last year or so. All the side dishes you used to get are now extra and you need to pay on top for everything. What is worst is that when you confirm your order and you ask specifically what you get they confirm...the order shows up and it is different what you discussed with them over the phone. What make the whole experience even worst, Damak staff then argue with you over what you ordered. Never again!
Need more stars for this place ****** the staff went the extra mile and then some. The food was lush. 6 adults and a 1yr old baby and they could not have pleased us any more. We will definitely be going back if not for the tasty food but for the exceptional service from the staff. We had the £12.95 for 2 course deal and wot amazing value. Truly worth a visit. Yum yum yum
Lovely food & excellent service. Our servers were very friendly & helpful. We spent £40.80 altogether for two starters hummus & falafel - both came with warm pitas, two mains chicken shish & mixed kebab pictured & two desserts baklava pictured. Will definitely be back, we are both very full now.
First visit and we had a great evening with three other couples. Nice welcome, excellent food and the service was brilliant. Portions were larger than we expected - probably didn't need to order a starter! Good wine selection as well. Highly recommended
Partner and I both ordered the Iskender and Halloumi for a takeaway through Just Eat on a Tuesday.... Don’t!!! Am not sure whether chefs have the night off on aTuesday or is just the busiest night of the week that they don’t care but be aware. Despite living close a dish arrived in record time that was smothered in a seemingly white yoghurt? sauce which can only assume is to mask the under heated dish. Looking at my plate they seemingly over compensate with I think potatoes to mask the lack of meat although now wonder whether that is actually bread, otherwise insofar as accompanaments don’t expect much by way of salad or pitta as neither is included. Apparently we’ve eaten here before; however it certainly won’t be as a takeway and absolutely won’t be through Just Eat as despite spending over GBP40 on the food alone I still had to suffer a GBP2.00 delivery fee and GBP0.50 service charge. Will need to put this down to Just Eat being a con as never have I had to pay a delivery/service charge on an order over GBP20.00 let alone the cold food order i placed tonight. If i could quote a 0 star for tonight I would; however noting a similar ‘Turkish‘ restaurant near Chalkwell station i certainly won’t be ordering from Damak again, especiallly through Just Eat. Avoid at all costs, unless eating instore as apparently that is more acceptable.......
This is a little gem of a place - we love it here the food is tasty and plentiful. The decor is good but what sets it apart for me are the staff. They are very warm and friendly and even remember what wine we drink! By the way try the Turkish wine - it is simply amazing...
Fantastic Turkish restaurant in the hearth of Leigh on sea. Very relaxed, great service and good food. The quality of the produce, especially the meat, is outstanding. The lamb shish is top quality neck meat cooked to perfection. The meze starter platter is very generous, home made Turkish bread to compliment.
