Amazing service, food is mouthwatering. Even with local vegetables they manage to make culinary miracles. Best Italian food in the area!
The other half and I have been coming to this restaurant very very regularly for the last two years. The food is phenomenal the atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are amazing. After two years I thought I should finally give this restaurant a review it deserves. If you're in the area and hungry for decent Italian get yourself to Da Lucio's. If you want to eat late book in advance as it is very very popular. Enjoy
Lots of fresh fish dishes on the specials menu and friendly staff, but the portion sizes aren't consistent. Decent suburban Italian, but not super authentic. If you're hungry, go for a pizza as they looked the most generous...
Came here for dinner last night. Really nice. Ordered something that wasn't on the menu and they were happy to oblige. Food was delicious! Loses 1 star as we thought they had packed a few too many tables in there. My date and I might as well have been having a conversation with the couple next door. That said will definitely be back.
Excellent independent Italian restaurant - friendly staff, fresh simple food, and the wine was pretty good value. We had the worst table small 2-person by the cutlery station because it was busy, but the waiter tried his best to sort it out. Overall, I really liked it and will return for more buffalo mozzarella pizza!
We had a lovely meal here yesterday, the seafood platter was delicious and the steak was decent.
Don't bother with any pizza chain, really, don't. This is a gem, a jewel, a wonder.... A beautiful authentic little Italian restaurant run by some lovely people. I visited here with my family and we still talk of the wonderful meal we shared together with the wonderful service. Of note, for pudding I had an ice cream with a shot of espresso on top. I was quite tired that day and asked for a double but this would not fit into the dish so the waiter told me 'he'd make it a nice strong one for me'. That's service. We're so lucky to have this close-by.
Overall, I would say that this restaurant is relatively good value. Service was quick and is well organised. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because it let itself down in certain areas. The main dissapointment was the shared antipasti. It has a great selection of meats however you are only provided with four very small pieces of bread. This means that between two people the bread is devoured in two bites and makes eating the rest of the antipasti a bitter sensation. Also be careful in ordering the Quattro Salumi four meats pizza. Whilst it is nice, the meats they use are incredibly salty. You go home incredibly dehydrated and you feel slightly sick from the levels of salt. My wife ordered the chicken special which was wrapped in Parma ham and served with green beans and potato. This was a very nice dish and I would highly recommend. The flavours in this work very well. As for dessert, we decided to give it a miss since we felt £6.75 per dessert was overpriced. What is great is that they do not forcefully add a service charge at the end and it is up to the individual.
As a frequent customer, they never disappoint on the food front. Excellent Italian staples including pasta, pizza and meats. Slightly let down by the alcohol however, £8 a pint and wine which is too expensive and not great quality.
Fabulous wine, amazing food, super flavourful ice cream. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere, quick service. Couldn't recommend highly enough!! Will definitely be coming back - want to try the rest of the dessert menu ;
