Reviews
Unfortunately the castle remains was not open when we stopped by in Workington 24/3/2022 so can't really leave a positive review for that but the rest of the area looked lovely and well kept with the odd spotting of wild rabbits and some pretty birds whilst we walked around the park, there is a children's play area on the right as you enter the park but we headed down to the ruins to look around and took a few photos and a couple of panoramic photos to show what it looks like. Will visit here again once it is open to fully look around.
Despite freezing weather, nice place for walk
A wonderful place for a walk, particularly in summer. The castle is in need of repair after being left to disintegrate over the last 60 years. The grounds however are beautiful and lead to lovely fields by the river Derwent.
These Gardens are very Beautiful what ever the time of year you go there. They are the jewel in the crown of Workington. I go there to enjoy a peaceful after noon, or hour or two. As you walk around you are met by the fantastic site that is Workington Hall the home of the curwens for over 700years. It is in need of restoration, but is extremely facinating in it's simplicity. It has a rich historic past with links to Mary Queen of Scott's. The whole experience cannot be written about, it needs to be visited to take in the full experience. All though you cannot enter the building at the moment, just learning the History Tower house and Gardens will make for a good day out.
Nice short walk... lovely on a sunny day.
An open, small park with child's play areas and exercise equipment. A nice place for a gentle walk
Lovely quiet place to walk and relax
