A small park, the path is about 2.5km around, car park to reservoir and back again. A perfect place to walk the dog with plenty for them to sniff.
Lovely park and walk. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to fully explore but will be back.
We're lucky enough to live right next to this beautiful park, it's in walking distance from our house. We enjoy to go for walks with our little boy. In the winter during lockdowns it got quite busy at times as there wasn't a lot else to do. But still beautiful and enjoyable even when busy. There are lots of little areas to walk around, little streams and rock pools for the dogs to splash in we don't have dogs but we see lots enjoying themselves there. Duck pond and picnic tables - we tend to take a packed lunch and/or snacks and sit at the tables enjoying the scenery, then head to the duck pond, and then walk around. Beautiful scenic walks with plenty of space - perfect for getting some much needed fresh air! There are two car parks I believe; they are pay and display - haven't used them ourselves as we walk there and back with it being so close. There is also a cafe that sells food, cakes and hot drinks etc. Very nice! And every so often there will be an artisan market or craft market on - lovely little boutique buys, lots of small businesses to support. Definitely worth a visit when they are on too. Would highly recommend Cuerden Valley Park to all who love the great outdoors.
Nice walk, nature was preserved really well. Lovely sounds of birds, water flowing and saw a squirrel close up. It’s pay and display parking with meter. Nice for a picnic or stroll. Good for dog walkers, cyclists and joggers as well. The dogs weren’t all on leads and did sniff/lick people. No dog poo left around though which is brilliant! The reservoir is not really maintained and is overgrown with weeds, otherwise would be lovely. #preston
Visited for 1st time today and will definitely go back! Lovely park for walking the dogs and children. Shallow river runs through it so lots of opportunities for dogs and children to have fun in it. Main paths are pram and wheelchair friendly but there are also more difficult ones if you want to go off the beaten track. Didn't have time to explore all the park but saw 2 picnic areas, 1 of which the picnic benches had a metal plate for bbqs and a special bin for ashes. Lots of other benches as you explore and plenty of bins. There is a large lake with ducks, geese etc but you cannot walk all the way around it as part of it is edged with a designated nature reserve that public cannot access. The cafe is lovely and definitely worth a visit. It is dog friendly and has a balcony with outdoor seating. The views from the cafe are lovely and if you sit near the bird feeder you can bird watch while you eat. They serve breakfast up to 11.30. Prices are a little expensive but food was good. Staff were pleasant and polite. Toilets were immaculate and well equipped. There is a separate disabled toilet with baby changing facilities. There are a few car parks which are pay and display - reasonably priced and take card or phone payments as well as cash. Disabled spaces are available near the visitors centre and there are also bike racks.
Lovely place .... Great for walking the dog .... picnic tables scattered around ... plenty of benches for taking a rest ...river ... lake ..... busy carpark but once walking round you don't really bump into anyone. Lovely little cafe too .... Nice day out
This is a great place to visit, especially with your dog. The cafe is also dog friendly and offers a good choice of menu.
Beautiful park, lovely cafe and pretty forest walks. What's not to love...
Lovely walk with the dogs! Lots of shaded areas and water for pups on a warm day. Nice cafe on site too.
No attractions as such but a wonderfull place for a country walk ranging from hard paths to woodland and riverside trails. Kids and dogs love it. Easy parking and picnic tables available.
