Story

Established in 1964, Cubex is home to London’s highest standard of individualised audiological care and lifestyle wellness.

We believe that we are all unique and individual. However, there is one thing we all have in common, we are human and a large part of what makes us human is our social nature and desire to feel connected and alive. We all deserve to feel this. But life has a habit of throwing us all challenges that makes it difficult to experience our world the way we would like to especially with tinnitus and hearing loss. The important thing is how we choose to deal with it.

At Cubex ,we are committed to helping individuals make positive lifestyle changes to overcome tinnitus, improve hearing and communication ability, restore balance and prevent hearing loss. Rather than one standard approach, we use a number of methods that work independently and intertwine to create a complete, tailored, human and individual solution.

WISH I COULD GIVE THEM -5 RATING!!!!! My experience with Adam Shulberg and his team was nothing short of a nightmare, and I strongly urge others to avoid working with them or even seeking their services. I recently attended a second-stage interview that was arranged through a London agency. From the moment I arrived, things started to go wrong. Without any prior warning or preparation, I was informed of an impromptu assessment, completely blindsiding me. This was not something I had been informed about beforehand, leaving me feeling unprepared and caught off guard. Despite the unexpected nature of the assessment, I did my best to handle the tasks given to me. I responded thoughtfully to the scenarios presented, managed emails, and even made a call to a client to confirm their appointment. Throughout this process, I maintained a polite and professional tone, opting to handle the tasks in a way that felt natural and authentic to me, rather than rigidly adhering to Adam's team overly scripted and rehearsed approach. I believed I was doing well under the circumstances, but what followed was nothing short of shocking. As I was waiting for Adam for the interview, he approached me with a cold and hostile demeanour. Without any discussion or constructive feedback, he harshly stated, “I’m not going to proceed with the interview. Your email and phone call were absolutely appalling. You should leave the building.” His tone was not just dismissive; it was aggressively unkind, leaving me stunned and confused. There was no room for explanation, no opportunity to clarify or defend my actions. Adam made it clear that he didn’t care about my side of the story and insisted I leave immediately. The humiliation and embarrassment I felt at that moment were overwhelming, especially considering I had traveled all the way from Kent for this interview. But what made the situation even more distressing was the context—this company supposedly specializes in mental health and well-being. Yet, the way they treated me completely contradicted everything they claim to stand for. The harshness and hostility I encountered, especially from individuals who should be well-versed in the importance of mental health, were shocking and deeply concerning. The aftermath of this experience was devastating to my mental health. I cried the entire way home, feeling crushed and devalued. The dismissive and hostile manner in which I was treated had a profound negative impact on my well-being. It’s incredibly ironic and disturbing that a company focused on mental health would treat someone so poorly. Their behaviour not only showed a complete disregard for my mental health but also left me questioning their ability to genuinely support others in their care. Furthermore, the inconsistency in feedback between Adam and his team and what I later heard from the agency added to my confusion and distress. This lack of clear communication and transparency is yet another reason why I strongly advise others to think twice before engaging with this company. If this is how they treat potential employees during an interview process, I shudder to think how they might treat clients who turn to them for support with their mental health. In light of this experience, I feel compelled to warn others about the culture of hostility and lack of empathy that seems to permeate this workplace. If you value your mental health and well-being, I strongly recommend avoiding this company. My encounter with Adam Shulberg and another member of their team left me feeling deeply hurt and betrayed by an organisation that is supposed to be dedicated to mental health. No one should have to endure the kind of treatment I experienced, and I hope this serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering working with or seeking services from this company.
Lovely place brilliant hearing test very thorough and consultant explained everything to me , made to feel very welcome would recommend definitely
Usually good, but today there is nobody to speak to in an emergency on the telephone. They say they will ring back but they don’t. I have no form of telephone contact as there is an error with the hearing aids. I am not pleased.
I went back to Cubex after a period where I had not been wearing my hearing aids because I felt they did not benefit from them much.David Engelman listened to my complaints and did a number of tests. Since I have very little hearing left in the high frequencies he suggested hearing aids which could adapt the sound to frequencies I could hear. These hearing aids have changed my life. I am much more able to manage and feel more confident socially. I have been very impressed with the level of expertise and adaptability to the clients needs at Cubex. And they serve a mean espresso.
Long walk from tube station. Would of been nice to advise me of changes made to the moulds as there not the same after being replaced. So the fit is not as comfortable as before.
There are no recommendations high enough for the amazing Cubex Team. They have been with me on this ‘journey to &through the sound’ for nearly 7 years now, and put up with my requests for the “ridiculous o’clock” appointments, my little and major panic moments, my fears, my overexcitement, my joyful squeals, and my grumpiness in between nightshifts and coffee, helped me help my over-the-phone-patients, and restored my confidence and love of life and music. I absolutely dislike being a patient myself, but with this Team I feel truly seen and heard not as a “case”, but rather as a unique, quirky, spiritual human being that I am. A few can boast going to their audiologists for Brain Yoga or having “legit” meditation sessions for tinnitus! Cubex are really practical magic.
Having worn hearing aids for ten years, my brother in law recently recommended I went to see Adam at Cubex, as he believed I would benefit from his unique approach. I have never felt so understood and nurtured in the process of dealing with my hearing loss as I have with Adam. I now feel more positive and am excited to continue this new path with Cubex.
I remain amazed at the technology on offer at Cubex, especially my ear device being wired direct to my mobile! Watching TV too, now is such a pleasure just being able to adjust my own volume. I am looking forward to starting Calm and at last tackling memory problems I have had since RTA brain injury when a teenager.
Annual Review appointment with Dr Engelman who I have seen once before. He is a terrific practitioner, a very good communicator and a lovely guy - explaining things very clearly and illustrating results with visual aids. Very pleased.
I visited Cubex recently about an annoying ringing in my ears I had been avoiding for a while. Turned out I had tinnitus which Cubex have helped me to find ways to manage. I still can't get rid of the tinnitus for good, but I have found ways to manage it now which I don't find stressful or intrusive. Cubex were very supportive and honest with me so I'll keep going back.
