We spent a relaxing weekend staying 2 nights at the beginning of June 2024, just pottering around the campsite and local area whilst many others, predominantly Borussia Dortmund supports from Germany ventured further afield to Wembley for Champions League final. What I would say is please don't arrive before 1pm. You won't be allowed in if you arrive before so if you do arrive early find yourself somewhere to park up and wait. The campsite is well laid out, very well maintained, clean and well-kept. It's not uniformly laid out which is great, several grass pitches as well as hardstanding, all clearly marked and signed. The handy plan of the site provided on arrival, as with many sites, is also very handy. The shower and toilet block was very clean. It is closed for an hour each day for cleaning. Access is via a key, provided on check-in. It took us about ten to fifteen minutes to walk into the town whilst the park is immediately behind the site. There's a nice café there and some good dog walks as well as the park's maze, which surprisingly was food fun. Level 9 Google reviewer; 1,000 plus reviews, 1.5 million views and over 12,000 photos with over 50 million views and still going strong . Although I'm not enamoured with Google and their service at the moment ‍. They're inconsistent. Check out my other reviews .
Great little site which is so convenient for a visit to the centre of London. We walked around the local park this time too and saw the dinosaurs! It is a quiet site that is clean and well managed by friendly staff. Train and bus routes in easy walking distance and a frequent service. It is such a shame this site will be closing in the near future.
Great campsite, so close to access London. Showers & toilets old fashioned in style but work perfectly and very clean. Crystal palace park beautiful discovery. Restrooms: Kept very clean. Hot water! Dog-friendliness: Great walks for our furry friends
Update:June 2024 Just as good as always, but sadly, it does seem like the threat of closure is going to come true. It will be sad to lose such a lovely site fabulous mature trees and wildlife which is well connected to central London. The alternative is very different in its location and vibe. Visit while you still can. Update: November 2023 Good location on the northern edge of Crystal Palace Park. Set in amongst lots of mature trees, the pitches are located on several loops off a road. There are two areas near to the office with flat grass pitches for tents. The facilities are not the newest, but everything works well and is very clean other site users permitting and the toilet and shower blocks are warm and the water is hot. A pleasure to use. Dishwashing and black water disposal are outside and there is a campervan service area. These are all next to the toilet and shower blocks. There is a dog walking area on site. There is a good selection of wildlife on site with urban foxes scouting for food don't leave rubbish out or awnings unzipped!, lots of small birds, rooks, squirrels and green parakeets that you can always hear even if you can't see them. The site is close to bus stops with good connections to town. The railway station and 'centre' of Crystal Palace shops, restaurants, takeaways and bars is about a fifteen minute walk away. For emergency purchases, there is a petrol station a short way along the road outside the site. Being in town, this isn't the quietest site and concerts and events are held in the park and these can be loud, but they always end at 23.00. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs and check what events are taking place nearby. We got to hear some banging sets from acts performing at Wireless last summer, but it won't be to everyone's taste. The bass sounds were loud enough to get our VW resonating and buzzin' We've stayed here lots of times and will continue to come back for as long as the site stays open - hopefully for many years to come. Excellent location. Tired but clean facilities. The site is run by nice, friendly people who are very helpful. If you don't fancy the walk into town walk in and bus back! check out the number 3 bus route.
Very nice clean site. I would recommend this camp site for a city break. As you go out of the site, there are loads of buses going to London, and other places. Lots of shops locally. Supermarkets within walking distance. Great site, when we were there is was a bit noisy, what with the election of the crystal palace festival, so I don't suppose it's like that all the time. Lots of hardstand pitches and grass pitches. They also have a tent part with there own showers and toilets.
Excellent site tucked away in a lovely location for exploring London. Very clean and tidy site and a very warm welcome upon arrival. We had a hardstanding pitch. Lots of lovely trees and greenery so its so peaceful after a busy day in the city of London. Number 3 buses run 24 hours from just up the road...we also walked 20 mins from the site to crystal palace overground station which takes you straight into Victoria Station. Will definitely be back to this site
Fantastic location with great travel links and superb local amenities. Sadly, this camp site has been under threat of closure for about 7 years now, and the on-site facilities are looking tired. Many of the lights are out, making this site hazardous to walk along at night. The ice cream freezer is gone from reception, the single hand dryers in the men's & ladies loos are both broken, but there's no paper towel provision, Many of the external wooden hand rails and fences are rotten, and they have removed all waste bins from site, so you need to trek to the site gateway with your rubbish bags. The signs say "saving the planet", but it's clearly a cost cutting exercise, while us members are still paying premium prices to stay at CMC sites.
Fantastic campsite, with really friendly welcoming staff. Has a countryside feel to is despite being in the city. Ideal location to explore London. Unfortunately now the Horrendous ULEZ zone has been slammed down over the entire area, I can no longer afford to visit.
What a great find! We had travelled from North Wales for a very special family reunion here, we explained this to the team as we arrived, and they very kindly gave us what felt like the perfect hard standing pitch away from the main cluster of fellow guests. I can't thank them enough, as it was very emotional, I'll never forget it. The whole site is well kept, facilities are very clean. Remarkably quiet too! Loved seeing and hearing the bright green parakeets flying around - what a surprise! Well stocked shop on site. *You will need a 25m hook-up for some pitches school girl error. We'll definitely be visiting again. Thank you to the whole team for making our visit so special xx
Everything you expect from a Caravan and Motor home Club Site. 7 Miles from Central London. 8 minutes walk to the Number 3 Bus into Whitehall which runs all night so easy for you to get back if you want to see a show. 15 minutes walk to the Railway Station. Right next to Crystal Palace Park and the National Sports Centre.
