Liverpool is a lively city with lots of cultural, sports and heritage attractions. Actually you can also find lots of large green areas and even country parks inside the central area. This country park is located in the northeast L12 of the city centre. There are sufficient parking spaces around the park. On the other hand, you can find a children's playground, large grassland, farm, heritage hall and walking trail. It is ideal for relaxing, cycling, jogging and walking dogs too!
Very busy park at the weekend but lovely place to visit for a walk or with your dogs. The hall has tours and I think can be booked for parties but not sure. There is always an ice cream van around and a donuts stall too sometimes which is a nice treat. There is a coffee and snack stall in the middle and there are nice clean toilets available near the coffee stall. It's a big park with lots of trails to follow. It's beautiful in winter and summer.nThere is a market there once a month selling great produce. During the summer there are fun days for the kids. Look on Google or on Facebook to find out when they have things going on. Well worth a visit any time of year. Take your wellies just in case.
This is a fantastic park, really big with a nature walk, a farm, the old manor house, lakes/ponds etc. the toilets are well maintained, all that is missing is the restaurant to reopen and the hall to get the investment it needs along with the walled gardens. Perfect for a good sized walk, dogs, families with the children's play area etc.
It's a great place, but they have priced the farm way too high. £5 per person adult and child and then £2 extra for animal feed. It cost us £28 for 4 people to walk around for 15 to 20 minutes. I know places like this need to generate funds, but I couldn't justify going back at that price.
The park itself is nice enough, but the cafe near the hall is atrocious. I live next door to the park, and regularly walk through the grounds. Today we went a lunch time and decided to grab a bite to eat. The farm cafe had stopped serving hot food be nice if the menu made this clear!, so we went to the small outdoor cafe next to the hall. Never again. Bacon clearly pre-cooked and reheated/burnt, very dodgy looking hot dog. Then to add insult to injury a price of £4.50. £15 for two sandwiches, two bottles of coke, and two small chocolate bars. God knows what anyone coming for a day out would make of it :-nnAnyway, four stars for the park itself and one star less if possible for the cafe - steer clear
