Have tried this place twice now when visiting the area. Shop is on the side of the road with very little parking. On my first visit had to park some distance away. The shop has does usually offer some vegan choice of cakes. On my second visit I had three to choose from. They also sell vegan pies which was curried chickpeas on both visits. Sorry not for me. The cake I chose looked nice, was sold in a box to protect it on the journey home. All postives. However, it didn't taste as nice as it looked. It tasted old but it appeared fresh. I bought a normal cake as a gift and was shocked at the price. It cost almost the same as visiting a cafe except I was taking it away. Don't think I will be visiting again.
Had an amazing breakfast barm and apple turnover. 10 out of 10 for both. Naughty but very very nice!
First time ordering and certainly won't be the last! Placed an order for delivery consisting of 2 roast beef, 1 roast ham and 1 half chicken Sunday roasts with a cake each included in the price. Wow!! Great quality produce used, excellent portion sizes and so tasty. The meats were so tender. The cakes look amazing but will have to save for later, we can barely move we're that full
We order from here quite a lot. the food is delicious. I love the Sunday roast and the cakes are to die for. The service is quick and efficient and the food comes piping hot. Plus the staff are really friendly. I would highly recommend the Crown&Thistle Bakery.
Nice bakery, with a lot of options. Cakes look amazing but never tried. Sandwiches are good and can be better. Salad boxes aren't that great. They also do hot food burger chips and jacket potato I ordered chips and beans, and they gave me a baby portion of beans :- Some items are expensive.. Lovely staff. On main road so street parking only. Missed the old bakery Tunstills********
Wow what a buttie shop. Super clean and every type of food you want including cakes. 1 of the best food shops I ever been in.
The bakery looks The part and smells heavenly. However, I bought the cheese and onion pie, the pastry wasn't very good and the filling was awful, it tasted like it was made from powdered cheese. I bought the caramel Cake, it looked really good and the topping was good, the cake was dry and tasteless. Not the best bakery I've used.
Lovely little shop. Good quality food and plenty on sandwiches. Also their cakes are so amazing. Please try this place.
The roast beef dinner to takeaway when you just can't be bothered to cook is fantastic. Will definitely try again
Found gristle and bone in not one but two pies on the same visit. That’s just careless in my opinion! If you want a real traditional bakers I’d recommend Stott’s just a bit further up the road. I’d avoid this place…
