Formby coast is a wonderful place to visit, car parks always really busy, better to park at life boat road. Get your steps in and try to find the dinosaur prints on the beach. Great place to walk or oaks children.
Crosby beach is wonderful. Windy as hell but a great stretch of beach to walk dogs either on sand or on concrete. There are great views and metal men sticking out of the ground to show how the the tide is. There is a lovely place to eat there called the bus yard I believe the name is. Rain or shine there are people walking there dogs . It is well set up and catered for this with adequate bins for doggie bags and green areas to let dogs play. It's one of my favourite spots when I visit Liverpool...... just bring a jacket. Seriously windy at times Dog-friendliness: Dozens of dogs there all the time
Great place to spend your day nice places to eat and drink around the area
Sound. It's nice space for family recreation time. With dogs we spend fantastic time together...
Nice place for a walk. There are plenty of places to have a picnic and enjoy the weather. There is a restaurant by the reservoir where you can go with your family or dog and have lunch or a drink. Playground: Quite big , nice . Some of attractions for kids are out of order Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly place Picnic area: Plenty places on the grass , not too much tables, some tables available in the kids playground area.
Calm sea … warm wind … nice view … good to have a walk ‍
Friendly feel in the sunshine, ice cold beers and food and the view isn't bad either
Lovely for a Sunday morning blow out - nearly got taken off our feet.
I have wanted to visit Antony Gormly's wonderful sculptures on Crosby beach, for such a long time but I never came up this way until this week, to look after a friend's dogs. The installation entitled 'Another Place' is fabulous, magical, very thought provoking, I loved it. The statues are quite far apart. There are 100 in total. I couldn't see all of them as I have bad back pain and can't walk very far, but what I did see was just fantastic and well worth the wait. There are quite large car parks at either end of the beach but these fill quickly on summer days. The beach itself is approached down several steep steps and is not equipped for wheelchair users. It is sandy and great for families with young children. I don't know how safe it is to swim there, I didn't spot any red flags but the shallows would definitely be fine for paddling. Take a flask and sarnies, there were no nearby shops that I could see. There is a cafe somewhere, but too far from where I parked, to see it.
We took the kids here for a few hours and the whole area was lovely. We didn't get chance to do everything we came for as the weather turned but there was a fairground, places to catch crab we didn't as it was the wrong time of day, a nice walk to the beach where the Anthony Gormley statues are and a lovely clean part of the coastline. There was a cafe we didn't get to but I will leave a review when we go back and visit.
