Abit expensive and I never got round to taking a picture of The Crooked Lum but I managed to finish the Fish & Chips, The Haddock was a massive, beer battered perfectly. The best tasting fish I've had yet! The only criticism I have is that the triple fried chips could have/ should have been given a fourth fry! 1/5 chips abit hard. But great service, friendly staff, Spice Girls playing in the background. Enjoyed it.
I was expecting a top notch steak but it wasn't really. Slightly overcooked and not the best quality cut. The one in the mixed grill was a little burned too. I had much better from Beefeater in the past. The salad was basically transfered from packet to plate. Could use some dressing? The halloumi fries were nice but I wasn't sure what was wrong with the chicken. It's like it had a layer of film around it... is it the effect of processing to make it feel more tender not sure.
This place is tastefully decorated. It has a good menu. Bar staff are very friendly. They cook the best steak I have ever tried. The only disadvantage is in busy days you can wait for long for your food and it could be slightly warm...
Relaxed atmosphere, lovely staff despite being under pressure at times. Food is reasonably priced by today's price ranges. Outdoor seating area is an absolute gem in this town and very few other places have anything as nice as this. Many locals have been regulars for years and The Lum has that rare quality of a village pub feel in a town setting.
Amazing dinning experience from last two weeks, believe me this place have Wonderful ambience Nice gesture, friendly, passionate staffs Fabulous range of foods Enjoyed my dine & wine here. Highly recommended!!! Cheers
A decent place to get food, conveniently located next to the hotel. The food was good and the staff were all very friendly.
The Lum is really good as far as Beefeaters go. The service is quick, the food is really good highly recommend anything with the pulled beef on it. Obviously it's a Beefeater so the food isn't going to be exceptional, but for the price especially their weekday £9.95 for 2 courses you really can't fault it! Their drinks are good, cocktails don't have any nasty cheap taste like some places I've been to.
Went here a couple of times , food is really good at lunch time they do a set menu on 2 or 3 courses and it is really good prices staff are friendly and make you feel welcome definitely one of my favourite places to go.Food: 5/5
My boyfriend and I are locals here when it comes for a meal out. Never a bad meal and the staff are generally very helpful, friendly and fun to talk to. The menu has a variety and something for everyone. We love our 40% off deals you email us! Keep them coming!
Me and my colleague have been here for a month now and it is by fair the worst beefeater we have ever eaten at! The chiefs are incapable of cooking a steak of any kind! Below is a picture of a medium rare steak I have got tired of sending them back now so I just eat whatever they give us! I'm working in the area for another month but can't stay here anymore its just awful and the management don't care+ if your eating here I suggest deliveroo! And get a drink at the bar
