Story

Back in 2009, Sophie wondered about how she could cheer people up during a recession and came up with an idea – lovely rustic homemade bread and cakes, made from scratch and with love – and the Crazy Baker was born.

After being baked the old fashioned way at our bakery in Kensal Green, our products are sold from two of our own shops/cafes as well as other local shops and cafes in Kensal Rise and in other locations around London.

Our breads, cakes and pastries are made from real ingredients - no packets - no frozen mass production or bread full of preservatives and e-numbers. Just simple bread made with flour, water, salt and yeast. We have such a wide range of products available to taste, try and buy. You can come in and see us and take away fresh bread, pastries, cake or other sweet treats today. Our whoopie pies are amazing for something sweet after lunch. From our two sites, we don’t just do bread and pastries, we do take away cakes but also custom-made cakes that make a great addition for the catering for your party. Come in and see us and tell us that you want a themed cake, for example a safari cake and we will get cracking. Our cakes are delicious and full of flavor. We also do delivered food. Having a staff meeting at work and don’t have time to go shopping for sandwiches or bored of your normal catering supplier. Well why not come and see us and discuss what you need and how much you can spend and we will take care of the rest.

In the mood to find somewhere to get a bite to eat or need something quick to takeaway, both sites offer ample seating and a lovely menu of delicious snacks and meals. Come in for our breakfasts that are divine. We also offer a great range of sandwiches and salads to take away for those in a rush.

We have one café/bakery, which can be found at 697 Harrow Road, just a stones throw from Kensal Green Tube Station and we have a second café that is at 35 Chamberlayne Road which is a short walk from Kensal Rise Overground Station. See “Public Transit” for information on how to get to each café.

Products

Both of our cafes offer a range of artisan breads, cakes, pastries and other sweet treats. We have a wide range of gluten free products that can be ordered from either cafe. All of our products are made fresh daily. With our cakes, you can buy cakes ready made or come in and talk to us about our custom made cakes. We make lovely 3D custom cakes which are great for birthday parties and anniversaries. Also in our cafes, we sell a wide variety of sandwiches that are great if you want a quick bite but if you want to come in and relax, we have ample seating and a superb breakfast and lunch menu.
