Really lovely beach! River area great for paddle boarding and for kids to splash about it, lots of rock pools and caves to explore, and sand dunes are great for sand boarding! Be warned the car parks fill up sooooooo early and the beach can get quite crowded along the river side.
Love this beach so much. Have been visiting here since I was a young girl. Quite busy these days. Great little sandwich van on there too. Dog friendly. Large beach!
One of my favourite spots near Newquay for being on the beach! The parking spot is great here, gets very busy during peak season but is ideal for people who want to park close to the beach. We love paddle boarding from here so it’s great we don’t have far to carry the boards, can only paddle at high tide and everyone should be very careful with the tide here since it can be strong and dangerous at times! Coffee truck is here most days and there’s also a ice cream box and toilets however they are locked in the evenings. Doesn’t ever seem busy in the evenings here, can still park and enjoy the sunset but they use a bar at the entrance to stop vans and campers getting in for the night, this happens about 6pm roughly!
This beach is great. The views are super and the sea is very clean. The price for parking isn’t bad considering it’s National Trust. Toilets, Food & Watersport facilities on site. It’s a great place for dogs and the family for a day trip or just a few hours. If your in the area then visit you won’t be disappointed
The Stunning National trust Crantock beach and dunes , NT car park adjacent which gets very busy in the summer months private car park also close by , ferry boat or low tide bridge takes you to the popular Fern Pit Cafe with its amazing views.
Perfect location, beach, sea, lagoon, caves the lot. We had 4 days here, all day, great time. 5 stars
Absolutely gorgeous stretch of sand with great caves to explore. Its one of a few beaches that we always visit when coming to Cornwall. Definitely try out Cargo Coffee on the beach. Great coffees and pastries! There's a couple of options for parking... the main national trust car park which can get busy and then the beach cafe car park to the right as you drive down towards the beach, both chargeable.
This is one of our favourite dog-friendly beaches in North Cornwall. There's a large National Trust car park which is as close as you can get to the beach just over the sand dune or around and along the easy access path towards the Gannel. There's a public pay-&-display grass parking area by the cafe and toilets. Walk down and onto the NT parking area to access the beach. Its a perfect place for lounging around on the beach, walking alongside the Gannel river, or for water sports and swimming within the lifeguard protected areas. Surfing and body-boarding is brilliant here, as the surf funnels into the bay giving some beautiful waves for beginners or experts depending on the swell. If the surf is poor, Stand-Up-Paddle boarding is perfect, especially along the Gannel amongst the steep sided valley. The Bowgie Inn on West Pentire is close by with more pay and display parking and excellent views out onto the bay. People access the beach from up along the coast path here too.
Nice beach. Very big when the tide is out. Clear water. Nice coastal walk to Polly Joke beach
Wow just wow. This beach is a stunning beach to visit if you are in the area. You can hire paddle boards we paid £40 for 4 hours The car park isn’t too far around five mins walk, what I will say is that there are two entrances to the beach we found out the hard way by walking up the big sand dune this wouldn’t e a problem for the young and fit but grandma might struggle. There is a couple of food and drinks vans on the beach, one which sell delicious vegan sandwiches. Just a head up we needed to pay cash for the car park so make sure you bring change. The toilets are located near the paddle board hire spot. There is a great paddle area for the children which slowly gets deeper over the day, we set up base here instead of near the ocean.
