Played The Balcomie in September and it was my first real experience of links golf. I’ve got to say that it feels like you’re playing the purest form of the game and it is how golf should be played. We were a fourball and we all loved it,some really interesting holes many with spectacular views. Will definitely visit again as our overall experience was fantastic, from the friendliness of the staff and members to the golf itself. Thanks.
Drove down to have a walk along the coastal path. Visitors pay at the pro shop £1 to park in a separate car park. we had a lovely walk and wil go back again. Lovely views even if you doing go walking
Crail Golfing Society, the 7th oldest golfing society in the world founded in 1786. 2 wonderful courses with fabulous facilities and amazing views of the Fife coast. Highly recommended and a great alternative to the St Andrews courses.
An amazing place to experience the game of golf. A short, but tough challenge for everyone. If you go, ask Don the starter for Stewart, Warren, or John to caddie for you. Each we're excellent in their advice, made great walking companions, and made the enjoyment of this iconic course all the more pleasurable. I'll be back to play again.
Awesome experience! Views are unexplainable.
Played July 2023 and really enjoyed the course. Great history and very playable. The locals were great and the overall vibe was just chill. Going back in 2026 and Crail is one we’re going to play again.
Played the Balcomie Course back in April with a group of 35 or so and man oh man what a day we had!! This was really my first links experience and I fell in love immediately. Having our names called out on the first tee was awesome and nerve racking at the same time lol. Just a special place that I will never forget and somewhere I would absolutely join if I lived much, much closer...
The Crail Balcomie Links course was a little different from the others I played, with fair number of the holes running along the coastline. Wind wasn't too bad. But, I wouldn't want to play it on a really windy day, even though the course is a mere 5,900 yards or so. The first 5 holes hug the coast, with #5 being a killer Par 4.
I played the Balcomie course on Monday with a member. The greens are is fantastic condition. Up there with the best I’ve putted on and I’ve played a lot of top courses. The weather was perfect and course was beautiful.
Great courses and clubhouse. Food and drink good and reasonably priced . Welcoming staff
