Craig Tara Holiday Park
"Craig Tara Holiday Park in Ayr, Scotland sits neatly on the country’s west coast. This dog-friendly park truly has something to suit every visitor. The Adventure Village and its zipline, and Splashaway Bay indoor water park with its fantastic new flume and another planned for 2023, subject to final plans are the standout features here. There’s also a nine-hole golf course, tube slides subject to final plans and entertainment for every generation. Brigs of Ayr is the welcoming main restaurant, and drinks are served at the Lighthouse Harbour Bar. Burger King, Papa John’s and Millie’s are some of other awesome options on park. Ayr is just three miles to the north, making it a short car journey or a great stroll if you’re feeling energetic."

Just got back after a 1 week stay. We stayed in the apartments first time on the park and first time in an apartment very impressed with the layout and the cleanliness of the whole thing. The bed on the first night was very uncomfortable due to the mattress been the wrong way and springs sticking out. This was rectified by simply turning it over. When moving the bedside tables to change the mattress we did find black mould on the wall. I went straight out to the cleaning team who came and sorted it straight away. We ate at most places on the park and found the food fantastic and staff always very friendly. My daughter loved the entertainment and we thought the mad hatter circus was one of the best shows we have seen on any park we have stayed. The park itself was always clean and has the bonus of having most activities indoors so a bit of rain won't stop you having fun. A few little things would stop me giving it a full 5 stars. *mould *door lock not working properly *marching band in upstairs apartment! *people feeding seagulls *price of pizza All on all a great park and we will hopefully be staying again
Staying here at the moment. On the touring site really peaceful. Lovely and staff are great. Hugh the head of security is so helpful lovely man. We had a problem with water he sorted it straight away. The haven site is absolutely brilliant for kids busy and lively still here and loving it. Don't want to leave. Thank you.
Great family location. On the west of Scotland so weather can be changeable but they have 2 massive lounges that take around 900 people each. Lots of free shows for the kids. Pool is amazing for a haven and while not great for a swimmer the kids loved the slides and rapids. Decent amount of parks that are free and some really good indoor activities that cost. The beach is decent as well and has a nice grass area as well. I had issues with my accommodation getting in and it was not ready. Finally I had to get bedding and make the beds myself as no one else was going to. There was a long queue of accommodation problems on the check-in day and I don't know if that's normal. However once fixed nothing else was wrong and I would go back.
Very busy. 4 bed villa was lovely. Nice staff, but one young man in the restaurant, never put through a Coca-Cola. And then tried to change full price on the meal deal, Fanta is not classed as a soft drink, as its in a bottle. Just be careful off, the meat deals. Most of the staff will keep you right .
This is our second visit to Craig Tara and we can't be happier! This place has something for everyone and they keep improving it each time. Beautiful beaches, Ayr is only over an hour walk away. Caravans are gorgeous and specious and staff are accommodating beyond expectations. We simply love it, even though its a 6 hours drive for us. Weather was better last year, but there were sunny days this year too. Overall great people, amazing nature, lots of activities for kids.
Craig Tara has always been a great family place for me and our friends to come and visit with our children, the upgraded arcade and caravans are good, plus the added play park and outside bar area a bonus,. But there's now more negative points than positive. The price of EVERYTHING at Craig Tara seems to have taken a massive jump up, from the caravan hire itself, to the bar prices and activities. It wouldn't be so bad if the place was clean and tidy, unfortunately it's not! The place has litter and food packaging, cups and tumblers lying on every table and overflowing buckets. Tables inside the restaurant were always covered in sticky residue, the service was terrible having to wait ages on orders being taken, then wait on cold food to be delivered to then have to wait another 30 minutes on another plate! In a place where the prices are abominable. Swimming pool area is severely lacking in the cleanliness department, plus it is in dire need of an upgrade or at least a lick of paint to cover the rust. Activities are my biggest gripe, you pay a small fortune for a caravan to then be told you have to pay inflated prices for the other site children's activities! The sky walk is £20, the pottery£20 and if you want a sculpture other than a plate..........you pay more!, the zip line broken, never seen it working jump zone £20, crazy golf £10! Plus the fact that these are all pretty run down and under maintained. The place needs more staff and to seriously look at pricing and upgrades as a 4 day break in Spain would have been cheaper.
The BEST family fun!!!! From start to finish the most incredible family holiday! Excellent facilities, jam packed with activities and events in a stunning location with everything you could possibly need on park. Each and every member of the team we dealt with went above and beyond to make our experience memorable, a special mention to Ewan and Amanda. We have already rebooked for next year and can’t wait to highly recommend to family and friends! Thanks Craig Tara
Best Haven I've ever been to. Large complex and so clean!! Even though it was at full capacity there was so much to do, loads of open spaces, right on the beach, no queues for anything. Most relaxing Haven holiday I've had.... With 4 kids in tow! Caravan was amazing, we upgraded to a 3 bed and couldnt fault a single thing. We were right on the beach so the view on an evening were breathtaking. Would definitely go back.
Generally the site is okay. Loads of 2p machines for the kids and other coin operated games. Just on the beach to go an play there. Pool was fun and clean. Kids enjoyed the slides and lazy river. Would not recommend the "apartments" at this site. The beds were awful, there was a funny dirty smell to the apartment, ours hadn't been cleaned properly with popcorn, crackers and the previous persons earring all on the floor. The paint on the wooden window frames was both pealing and moldy. At least with the caravans at a differnt site you have a brush and mop to clean up yourself if needs be. I would go back to the site, but not in the apartments.
We had a great family gathering weekend away here. Not so dog friendly which is a shame but lots for kids and young families who all seemed to be having a great time. Lovely location on the Scottish coast and with a regular designated bus service to Ayr Town centre making local travel easy. Dog can travel on the bus, upper deck only which our wee Oscar loved. It's a nice coastal walk to Ayr too, circa 90mins, if you're up to that. Dog-friendliness: Not as good as other places visited. Dogs are not allowed in most places! Fair enough but worth knowing if that's important to you, it was to us on this trip.
