This was a pleasant surprise. My expectations were fairly low, but we’re exceeded. This is a very cool walk through an old structure that has a pretty rich history. There are life size figures throughout and a number of interactive audio visuals. There was a small gift shop with snacks etc in it. This is indoors and outdoors with staircases. It can be a bit chilly indoors as it is all stone. There are bathrooms inside. Fun place to check out if in Cork.

We a late 30's couple enjoyed our trip here. We went on a Saturday and it still wasn't too busy. It's worth paying the extra couple of euro for the audio tour. We spent a couple of hours here, including the Radio Museum and found it value for money.

Ticket costs 10€ for adults 8.5€ for students. It's a good place to know about the history of the Cork. Ticket comes with a map of the place, everything well explained, signs everywhere. It is a big building sonypu can spend about an hour there. There is also a small giftshop inside. After visiting the building you can walk around the gardens.

The Gaol is a great morning out. They always have something on to help engage the kids, be it a story teller or quiz with prize at the end. It has a really interesting history. Note part of this is on the second floor with steps up so take that into account when visiting. Cannot recommend highly enough. I have gone with 8 year olds and 10 year olds.
This historical site receives high regards from almost who visit. While the grounds and buildings were beautiful, the historical site haunts with the retelling of those imprisoned here. So, while beautiful and impressive, it’s a saddening tourist attraction in my view. I suggest the audio tour unless you enjoy reading to learn about each numbered station. The wax figurines make for an engaging visit and retell the stories of those imprisoned here. Bathrooms on site… costs about $8-10 per person to visit. I’m
