We visited Copper Ceylon after reading all the rave reviews and visiting with our Sri Lankan friend. The food was tasty but prawns in starter chewy, and I have to agree with some of the reviews the portions are very small and the prawn curry on mains only had 4-5 prawns in. Quite steep imo. Deserts were also tiny and £35 for a bottle of Prosecco, is that the going rate now? Service was quite slow and had to ask for cutterly for mains and more napkins. The food was full of flavour despite the negatives and well presented. Atmosphere is lovely and so is the interior. £191 for 3 people with service charge added! Will I be back? Not sure but willing to give it another go!
We have just been with the wife to enjoy some cocktails on the happy hour, the cocktails and the bar staff service was great. However, it’s very disappointing that we had to pay full price for our signature cocktails as the happy hour offer apparently only includes classic cocktails. We were only made aware of it, when settling the bill. When we have pointed out that there are no signs that only Classic’s are included, Manager argued the information was clearly stated on the advertisement outside the bar, which is a lie. Advert outside, as well as in the toilets, is misleading so don’t be fooled. It’s a shame as we had high hopes for the place, management needs to step up their game or attend a customer service course.
Brilliant Sri Lankan food where the staff are ever attentive and the atmosphere fantastic. Thank you for a lovely evening, we will definitely be back.
Lovely dinner this week. We arrived on Friday night and there were no tables. We initially were told that we wouldn't be able to have a table for an hour but we asked to sit by the bar which the staff agreed too. The front of house staff, waiters and bar staff were really friendly and really funny. As we were sat at the bar they spoke to us often. I recommend the mutton rolls, I got the mutton curry which was good but I wish I tried a curry that is different to what I'd tried before. The paratha was thicker than what I've had in the past but it was still flaky and tasty wit the curry. I also got the yellow rice to share and it was a big portion. I couldn't finish my curry so that was a good portion. I got the tropical sunrise mocktail which was like a slushie, it was very nice. Overall, great experience. Only downside was having to move further along the bar to make space for other guests, and the staff moved my friends bag a few times, maybe it was in the way but I'm not sure of what.
Outstanding cuisine. Delightful flavours and a lovely evening celebrating my husbands birthday..our lovely server Lois went the extra mile to make our experience wonderful. She was knowledgeable about the food, warm and friendly. The bartender created the most delicious cocktail and because my husband made such a fuss about how tasty it was, brought him another on the house to say thank you! We will mist definitely be back.
