Das anmutige Coolmore Manor House hat uns sofort in seinen Bann gezogen. Das rund 200 Jahre alte Herrenhaus wurde im georgianischen Stil erbaut. Vor dem Haus führt eine repräsentative Freitreppe zur Eingangshalle mit Stuckdecke, altem Cheminée und grossem Kristallleuchter. Hinter dem Haus befindet sich ein wunderschöner Garten mit Hot Tub und - angebaut an das “Coach House” - einer Sauna.  An der typischen, grau verputzten Fassade rankt ein Efeu. Daniela führt das Haus seit fünf Jahren und hat es zusammen mit ihrer Familie sorgfältig renoviert und eingerichtet.

Das Coolmore Manor House kann man wochenweise als Ferienhaus mieten. Das Frühstück lässt sich dazu buchen, ansonsten gilt grundsätzlich Selbstverpflegung; die wunderschöne Landhausküche ist dazu bestens ausgestattet. Wer nicht selber kochen will, braucht nicht weit zu gehen. Nur wenige Hundert Meter vom Hause entfernt findet man zwei authentische Pubs, das Gaslight Inn und das Smugglers Creek Inn. Allzu viel sollte man von der irischen Küche zwar nicht erwarten, aber gutes Bier und deftige Hausmannskost gibt es alleweil.

Ein echtes Highlight stellt hingegen das Lobster Dinner dar, welches Daniela auf Wunsch für ihre Gäste zubereitet. Man sagt, der irische Hummer sei der beste! Das Gästebuch zeugt jedenfalls davon, dass sich sich Danielas Lobster Dinner über die Jahre zu einem echten Renner entwickelt hat. Dazu wird einzig Knoblauchbutter und Baguette gereicht - purer und frischer geht's nicht.
