I have been going here for a few months now. The best coffee/delicatessen shop in town! The food is always fresh and tasty, and staff are always lovely and friendly. Well worth a visit. Great atmosphere sitting in as very quaint, plus also great for takeaway.
Great staff, great coffee and a lovely menu. I'm one of those annoying people who eye up different ingredients on the menu in various dishes and ask them to be served as a dish for me. They have always been so flexible - "If it's in the kitchen you can have it', they say. Such a pleasant change from 'THE COMPUTER SAYS NO" kind of establishments.
I didn’t really like my experience. You have this tiny menu to read that’s displayed on a piece of plastic. The shop doorway, pay at till and shop floor all start in the same area so it bottle necks with people waiting to be served, people coming in and out of the main entrance, staff cutting through the gap to stack shelves and being served. I ordered a pastry, which was average, cooked - bought in frozen product. The bacon baguette which was cold -took 15 minutes. The drinks range is on a shelf and not very clear as the person behind the til has to move for you to be able to see it. I also bought some cakes that looked great but just tasted plain and boring. I can tell why the prices are above average-this is because they have so many staff, not because the products are of high quality. There was a lady with blonde hair just walking around talking to people which was odd as she didn’t seem to be wearing a uniform or look like staff, she stood right in front of me at one point for a whole 3/4 minutes as she spoke to the staff. Getting the impression she might be the manager -she might want to work on not looking like she just got out of bed and came to work in a busy food environment. Lots of staff -kinda clicky. The girl serving me was pleasant but uninterested in any other small talk I tried on to pass a painful wait for a sandwich. Better options locally if you don’t want to stand watching staff pack shelves and deliveries arrive uncoordinated. For this price the experience should be more welcoming, friendly and a great food product. However the competition locally falls short-so places like this just have to show up. Lastly. If your going to pull up a stool and start checking invoices behind the deli counter-remember there are staff who have to serve customers and get to and from a coffee machine. No customer really wants to stand in line watching you do invoices when they are waiting. You should be expediting the process or doing paperwork outside of the lunch hour surely.
Fantastic selection of pies to take home. The cottage pie is the best I’ve ever tasted.
Staff 5 star place is very nice food good had to deduct half a star for forgetting my cold drink will use this place again .Thankyou for a pleasant lunch.

This is our favorite spot in Midhurst and the maker of great coffee and an awesome bacon and egg sandwich. There is a little spot to sit outside and inside is cosy and packed full of goodies. Lovely staff who really care about your experience and seem to know everyone that comes into the cafe. Well worth a visit.
Comestibles is fabulous. I’ve been to my fair share of fancy/trendy London coffee places and Comestibles serves very good coffee. Their flapjacks are amazing and they have a fabulous selection of crisps, pasta dried and other dry food goods, plus they do sandwiches and cakes. If you’re a coffee lover, Comestibles is well worth a visit.
