A really nice place to visit - I highly recommend it.nnThey have a huge collection of military, spy and civilian weapons and clothing, going back hundreds of years.nnThe guns were primarily military, not civilian none of the 11 that I have owned as a civilian in the UK.nnEverything is very well categorised and labelled.nnIt isn't a large building - so not much walking but lots crammed into the space.nnOne member is staff was fantastic - have a very good introduction to the museum and chatted with us a few times as we wondered around. He is very knowledgeable.nnWe were there for about 2 hours and only saw about 20 other people!nnThe only bad points were that the car park is very small but I'm sure there is other car parking nearby.nnThere isn't much to hold, but there is a lot to see! We got to hold 3 guns on the way out - all a member of staff for this.nnThere was no heating - wrap up warm!
This is a realy good museum with items that no other museums have in UK! It is a collection of 1 person who lives nearby the museum- he started collecting war items since he was 7 years old. What a collection!!! Highly recomended to visit. The volunters happily become tour guides for all visitors with loooots of interesting facts and stories! Just get postcode and trust me, you WILL find it! It was a bit a challenge to find it first time but just trust your satnav! It IS there!:
Visited today as part of an educational trip with the RAF Reserves.nAbsolutely fantastic array of military memorabilia from all three forces & abroad, dating from the mediaeval times to bang up-to-date.nThe best part has to be the Exhibition about the cockleshell heroes with the last surviving canoe used in the raidnVery helpful staff who couldn’t have been more accommodating.nThanks again fellas and hope to see you again soon.n3PSnRAF Reserves.n11/01/2026
A wonderful museum filled to the brim with a wide selection of military memorabilia from across history. Compromised of about 3/4 rooms which are densely packed and well laid out. Uniforms, weapons, badges, ordnance and more from the middle ages to present. Staff were absolutely lovely and extremely knowledgeable willing to answer all sorts of questions. Spent around 2 hours inside but easily could have spent more. 5/5 would recommend.
Great place. Has 3 floors. Disabled and baby changing room on first floor then toilets upstairs. Lots of weapons and clothing. Small car park but it’s not that busy when we came. It was nice to visit and friendly staff. They prefer card rather than cash. You can book online then pay in person
