Toby carvery is one of our favourite places to eat. It suits our eating habits and is generally good quality food so unless there is something wrong they tend to get 5 stars from me. In this case most things were good , it wasn't too busy, we were seated quickly, and the staff we attentive but not overly so. The food, however, seemed like it had been sitting out for a while and as food is the main reason to visit this lost them 2 stars this time around.
Great place to have a bite to eat. Plenty of choices. Very welcoming and fantastic friendly service.Food: 5/5
Got there in the rain. Not a huge variety of food that caters for everybody but for the Scottish people lots of their traditional foods. I enjoyed the eggs bacon and pork sausages though. Bit of confusion though with the coffee if it was included in the buffet or not. Overall not bad.Food: 3/5
The plate size is a bit smaller than i remember from the previous carvery meals i have had a year or more ago. The carvery had three sorts of meats to choose from also turkey very large yorkshire puddings nice amount of vegetables. Pudding selections were very varied even with the set meal option
Had Sunday Lunch here as we could bring the dogs to join us. Very friendly atmosphere and Pat was a wonderful host! The vegan food was delicious too ! Thank you for having us Food: 5/5
Booked a table for 6 people, 2 adults and 4 children for a Sunday carvery. We booked a table for 1910 as we had kids activities on all day and thought it would be a nice treat to end the day. Table had been booked since earlier in the day arrived to be informed there was no meat left and that they didn’t get round to phoning customers to inform them. There was only a small amount of vegetarian options and kids meals on offer. Extremely disappointed as they could have called or sent an email so we didn’t travel all the way over to be left at 1910 at night with 4 hungry children. The table wasn’t ready either as we agreed to sit down and look at menu but had to wait for the table to be cleaned and reset despite not being busy. Left instead and went elsewhere for a meal instead
Came here on Sunday, had a scrumptious meal, our server Lewis, was fantastic as nothing seemed to be too much of a task for him and he definitely added to our Toby experience. We can’t wait to come back and hopefully have as great service as we had from Lewis again.
Lovely waiter who served us who took real care with my mums allergies. Food was delicious and at very reasonable prices. We’ll certainly be back!!!
Terrible, wouldn’t have eaten if had a choice after a long day. Told that menu was available but after ordering drinks then told only the carvery. The meat was ok but I only had it and roast potatoes on my plate. Cold, dry and flavourless and all the veg was so dried up that I wouldn’t even put it on my plate. Said to the chef but she didn’t seem to care and shrugged her shoulders Floor had food on it that staff just walked through and left the whole time we were there. It’s no wonder the place was so quiet. One member of staff lifted potatoes from the buffet with bare hands and disappeared with them, presumably to eat. Counter had spilled food on it. To be honest I wish we had walked out as soon as we saw the food and jumped back in the car to find somewhere else. No one asked if everything was okay or if we enjoyed our meal even when we paid. Not a smile to be had. I should have complained about the food but my other half would have said more than should have politely and I felt I said to the chef, and would have if asked, but I don’t like to make a scene. In hindsight am annoyed at myself Dietary restrictions: Poor not worth it Say have options but only carvery
Very poor show, tried getting food in the evening, 7 of us , just wanted a choice of sharers/starters between us. Staff didn’t seem to know what was and wasn’t available, ordered 5 dishes, first four came out individually at least 5 minutes apart and we never got the 5th one at all, was told by waiting staff this was because they only had one working oven, which the manager later denied !! Food was of poor quality, either under or over cooked. Gave them a second chance the following morning for breakfast and this was just as bad, food luke warm and greasy and staff didn’t seem to know prices of drinks etc, most appear very new. Wont be back I’m afraid
