Had a lovely lunch with friends. Food delicious and great value. Lovely village pub with great atmosphere. Nice garden if lovely weather. Car park only for patrons. Would definately recommend and return. Thanks
Welcoming and friendly pub with great food. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend
Really lovely atmosphere, great service, high quality food. We didn’t realise it was no dogs in the restaurant, but staff were really nice and sorted us a table in the bar end. Very accommodating, definitely would come back!
Love this place. The food is fantastic every time. Had the best roast lamb this time around. Family run business with all the customer service you’d expect. You won’t experience a better roast anywhere else.
Nice pub with great service. Food was good too. We found this whilst camping locally & arrived mid evening on a Friday & luckily they found us a table. Lovely wine & well kept beer, will visit again
Let down by management with an extremely bad attitude. Been visiting this pub every weekend both days for a year or more, we’ve always been more than polite to all staff younger ones have always been most helpful and polite . On two occasions recently, having found a table been told when gone to order “ no walk in’s” which we found extremely rude, perhaps saying “ bookings only” would have been kinder, maybe we are over sensitive but on the second occasion we called in to request email address so we could address our disappointment at being told no service as regulars and was met by an extremely rude manageress, shouting over us, not letting us speak, we got cut off, and called back to resume the conversation, another member of staff picked up and the manageress could clearly be heard shouting in the background “ what does he want now? I’ve already told him” which was unprofessional at the very least. Against my better judgement my partner wished to give them another chance. They took the order, took our money, brought the food then the manager said he couldn’t “ find room for us” as we’d been rude to his wife! which is completely untrue , it was the other way round anyway, she can rest assured we won’t ever be returning! Nice food , and the younger staff are delightful, but management do not take criticism the same woman we have witnessed arguing with another customer in the summer who dared to complain well… they could do with some training in hospitality.
Booked this pub for a Xmas dinner for me and my wife + my 81 year old mum & told the bar staff that I was bringing a little dog, they said that it was ok ! Turned up on the day and the owner said that there was a problem because dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. Not a great start to the day. He did sort it out by giving us seating in a corner in the bar area which was fine problem averted Happy days
I admit I had one of the most exciting dishes I’ve had in ages at The Cock Horse Inn. The mushroom and feta filo pastry parcel was sweet and sumptuous. The pub has plenty of historic character. It’s another local’s pub catering for the drinking class with a restaurant area out back. It, along with the Kings Arms down the road just needs to look over its neighbour’s shoulders in Ightham. It’s heading in the right direction, but needs to up the level of service, food quality and choice to be a must visit pub food venue in Kent.
Killer fish and chips, and a killer homemade burger. It feels like a tight knit community inside and is very welcoming!
unplanned first time visit. Popped in for a quick drink with friends after local country walk. Highly impressed with the service, professional and switched on bar staff. affluent patrons in a clean, well-maintained comfortable quirky gastro pub. Without doubt certain to return.
