Following a very bad experience at another local cobbler a work colleague told me about this guy great repair on my beloved Jeffrey west shoes and the keys WORKED unlike other place totally professional polite and courteous would recommend in a heartbeat never go anywhere else from now on. Only one fault he supports West Ham (shocking)

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If I could give less than one star I would. I am so angry with the service here that I am seeking a way of making an official complaint to the Ombudsman. First of all the owner carried out an exceedingly poor repair to the heels of my shoes. I went back to him the same day and asked if he could neaten them up because I was not happy. He did so begrudgingly. I took them home, still not happy with the quality and showed them to my mother who was shocked that I had actually paid for them The replacement sole of the heel was not flush with the rest of the heel and there were gaps in the coating that he had put over in an attempt to make it look even. The colour of this coating did not even match and was patchy. Brush strokes were also obvious. I returned with my mother the next day to ask for a refund as I have had the exact same job done in a much MUCH better way elsewhere in the past. He told us that there was nothing wrong with his work and refused a refund. He shouted at us and grabbed the shoes from us, and proceeded to file them down (somewhat violently) even though I had not asked him to and did not want him to. After a lot of arguing, he eventually said he would give a refund but that he would take the heels off so that I could not use the shoes. At this point I was almost in tears as he was clearly damaging my (expensive) shoes that were a gift. He very violently yanked the heels off the shoes and thrust them and my refund back at us. He then, perhaps most shockingly, grabbed the receipt out of my mothers hand just as we were turning to leave. Let me reiterate. He did not ask for it. He certainly did not, and does not, need it. He violently grabbed it out of my mothers hand. Now in my opinion, that is verging on assault. At no point does a shop owner/ assistant/ employee EVER have the right to lay hands on a customer or grab something from them. My mother was too scared to challenge him so we hurriedly left. I assume he took the receipt so that we have no proof of a transaction.

I have used cobblers to you for over 20 yrs and have always been delighted with both repairs and services. I will not go anywhere else and do not know what Ill do when he retires, which he has indicated he may do.
