Just paid a recent visit after a number of years, I forgot what stock and the range of  CDs they had, ended up spending too much but have come away very pleased with the 15 items we bought. This shop is well worth a visit even if you need to make a special trip. Too much choice and temptation was difficult to ignore. Save up and pay a visit you will not be disappointed.

Great shop...my husband pops in whenever we are around the area. Infact he has used it for over 35 years!! Sold all his vinyl some 30 years ago like so many, and obviously regrets it now as he has to buy them again!! Anyway, been in Cob records  today, purchased 2 vinyls, The Doors and Beatles album Revolver mastered. Owner put it on for hubbie to listen to the different productions of the 2  Revolver vinyls as he was undecided.. Owner very helpful indeed x great place

I'm one of the thousands rediscovering their vinyl and kicking myself for chucking out all my original stuff at the start of the CD revolution; hindsight is a wonderful thing... This place has vinyl by the tonne, both albums and singles. It's not a one stop shop to replace everything in one go, but there's more than enough for an hour's mooch down memory lane. I found a couple of titles I wanted and great quality too. Records range from originals graded for you already to brand new re-stamps. I defy anyone to leave with nothing bought. Good range of CDs too. I recommend you pop in if you're into your music.

This is the town I was born and this was my first record shop where I bought my first record, I have moved away many years ago and I have traveled the world and been to many record shops, Cob is not the most modern, but it is still my favourite, every time I go back to Porthmadog it is my first port of call.

Great range of vinyl cd and dvd ...  wish there was a bit more vinyl but I suspect this place has a high turnover of records and guess stuff doesn't stay on the shelves long!

Superb record shop with a huge range of rock and other genres. Includes competitively priced used records and CDs.

I had a very poor experience of this shop. Staff were grumpy, unfriendly and didn’t want to engage. Poor selection of used vinyl which is why I was there. Also had around 1000 records labelled as ‘imperfect’ they would not play them and would not refund if you are not happy. Sorry but this is no way to run a shop, if you are selling records with a sticker price of £150 and labelled as ‘imperfect’ I want to be able to play it or you don’t get my business. Saved my money and went elsewhere and won’t be returning.

Fantastic selection of well organised cds and vinyl, with even cassettes on offer for 50p

What a find! As an often frowned upon CD collector this shop was an absolute joy. My only problem was I didn't have enough time. Definitely worth checking out.

They didnt have any northern soul or old soul on vinyl. But I did come away with an old 70's 45 so not such a bad visit.
