The bar for Co-ops seems to be disappointingly low in general so it's no surprise that this Farsley branch is no exception. You'd not be wrong in thinking that the Farsley Co-op is a supermarket but what you're actually entering is a hunger-games style warehouse for Uber & Deliveroo orders. You're pitted against the staff as they rush around the store to pack the online orders that are seemingly prioritised over an in-person customer experience, regularly feeling as if you're an inconvenience; often probably being just that for the team as you compete for the same products. What's even more audacious is that the fresh fruit and veg is anything but, often being spoiled and gone off on the shelf whilst being very over priced, as most products in the store are.nnIf you dared expect convenience or expeditiousness then you'll also be left wanting as despite self-service tills now being the norm and us all familiar with their use, should there be any issue that you require assistance with - such as an age restricted product or overcoming the scale calibration being set to accept only the lightest of feathers - then it is often quicker to just go somewhere else than wait for a member of the team to materialise as they're too occupied with hunter-gatherer responsibilities of the online orders to even notice the queue forming.nnThose essential items: yeah, they cost a fortune. Things you don't need: suspiciously underpriced. Either way, every shop, whether it be 1 item or 10 will always be around £30 with the alleged paltry member discounts somehow costing you more money. This is what we expect as valued Co-op members...
Ordered on Amazon for same day delivery. I had ordered dinner groceries. Order was taken at 3pm for a 6pm delivery. It wasn't until 545 I was notified by Amazon that my delivery was cancelled. Now I have to quickly come up with another dinner plan with my money still tied up on the order. I am never ordering online from Co-Op again!!
Truly awful service, 2 staff members running around to get online orders ignoring customers in store when all it would take is an acknowment and say they will get someone to help. when someone finally came to till she could not care less I had to ask twice for the item I wanted and she looked at me as if I was something under her shoe . When the sale had gone through I had to learn under the glass counter to retrieve my goods as she had just walked off.
Called into the store to pick up a few items. The colleague who served me on the tills was very kind and showed great customer service. The colleague on the shop floor helped me with the new hot drinks machine. Very happy with the service given and will shop there again.
Apart from the very narrow aisles, this is your typical CoOp, with a wide choice of produce, fresh and packaged. The staff are friendly, polite and very willing to help. Handy car park at the rear with space for around 15 cars.
