I’ve been a regular customer at this Co‑op for a long time, and unfortunately the atmosphere in the store has declined significantly due to the behaviour of management. The manager is consistently rude and dismissive toward both customers and staff. When you ask a simple question, he often shakes his head and walks away rather than offering help.nnIt’s also very noticeable that new staff members don’t stay long, and from what customers can see, the environment appears unwelcoming and unsupportive. There is also another staff member who seems to follow the manager’s lead, which only adds to the uncomfortable atmosphere.nnAnother concern is how quickly the store escalates situations around the loading bay. While I understand deliveries need access, involving the police over drivers briefly stopping nearby feels excessive and unnecessary.nnOverall, the behaviour of certain staff members is damaging the reputation of the Co‑op brand, which is disappointing because many of us rely on this store and want to see it run with the friendliness and professionalism Co‑op is known for.nnMy granny would be horrified as to seeing how her trusted local store had turned out like, even my old neighbour used to be a manager at that store many moons ago, god bless her, yeah not the same anymore
I agree with missy j's review ,I know exactly the man she is taking about ,I find he ignores older women and is abrubt and rude, but if a younger schoolgirl for example is at the till he is talkative and it comes across perverted. I read another review about the same man written a year ago about the same issues regarding body odour,why has it not been addressed ? Whereas I wouldn't want this person to lose their job he needs to be made aware of his body odour and his customer service and how it comes across.
Just been into this store today, ually visit this store at least twice per week, today is my last visit, i am sorry but i can not put up with the smell from the guy on the tills, his BO needs addressing, seriously he really stinks and its very sickly too, you just know when he's at work s soon as you enter the door into the store the smell hits younnThen on top of that he is actually quite rude toward customers, as to me being female i feel somewhat scared of him when he looks over you at the pay point or self service till as many call it these daysnnHis attitude when he responds to your question or request goes beyond helpful as he walks away and mumbles to himself and then looks at other customers and smirks as if you are an idiot or something elsennYes today is my last day in that store, my nanna used to work in that store years ago, she was actually the manager, back in those days the coop had a rule and that rule was CUSTOMER FIRST wow how times have changed, but it's not just him that has an attitude towards customers as there is also another guy that works there and in his 30s actually my brother knows this guys boyfriend and he even has issues with people outside of his jobnnIt's sad as the coop had a proud name that earned respect over the years, but its now declining, i wonder why
Just like to say bought a ltre bottle of coop vodka on the 4 novrmber it was leaking the lid was open
Nice well ran shop, friendly staff.
