We went with another couple for lunch and all felt it was the best experience in our recent memory which is saying something as we love eating out! Sorry I didn't take pictures of the food which was delicious from the amuse-bouche to the chocolate truffles served complimentary at the end of our meal. Champagne excellent, crab starter excellent, rabbit with mustard sauce absolutely divine. But in addition to the lovely food and wine, the owner was so very welcoming without being intrusive, served perfectly so we always felt taken care of but our conversations never interrupted. It was like the Gavroche where no one appears until you need them. To take it to perfect 5 stars, the restaurant was immaculately clean and the decorations and loos beautifully done. That is where these pictures are from as I would like to copy the idea - sorry no pictures of the well presented food......
Phenomenal experience in french cuisine. From the time you walk In to the time you leave everything is perfect. Fantastic authentic French options to choose from with everything cooked to perfection. Truly 5 star dining and would highly recommend
This was where I took my wife on our first date and have been back every year since including to propose. The menu is small and excellently prepared. The dishes change frequently but are always authentic French. Garth looks after you expertly and knows what you desire often before you do! Outstanding food doesn't come cheap but Clos du Marquis is always value for money. I cannot recommend it enough.
We had a most enjoyable lunch at the Clos du Marquis Restaurant this afternoon. It’s the first time we have dined here but will definitely not be the last. The food, wine and service from Garth and his wonderful wife were second to none. We are very fortunate to have dined in many top restaurants at more than double the price, but the quality and overall experience of the Clos du Marquis is easily as good. Thank you Garth, will be back on a regular basis…

Great atmosphere, service and food. Good value too. Thank you very much. Would also like to mention that they had a great menu, including the days specials. They accommodated our two Vegan guests no problem and they were very complimentary about their choices. The cheese selection was excellent. The coffee and Chocolate to finish the evening were more than just the end of the evening being remarkable in their own right. The chocolate in particular being very rich in Coco with some brandy - outstanding!
Our favourite restaurant in the world, and only 10 miles from home. We've been coming here for about 6 years and have never had anything other than an utterly exquisite meal. Amazing service, incredible food, lovely ambiance - never feels busy or rushed, we feel like old friends rather than customers. All the stars!!
I highly recommend Clos du Marquis for fine dining at a reasonable price. The authentic french cuisine is delicious and nicely presented and the table are perfectly set out with lovely cutlery. The service is first class and the atmosphere is relaxed yet safety protecting the customer from Corona is paramount as tables are space far apart This has to be my all time favourite restaurant
We had a lovely lunch with friends. The menu was really interesting and the service was attentive but relaxed. All our food was well prepared, using fresh ingredients and great seasoning and flavouring. This restaurant is well worth going out of the way to visit
Brilliant! The owners always go above and beyond and the food is excellent. It was so good we recently hired it out for a birthday party. The owners, staff and venue were perfect. Not over the top, not too much. Just right. A great balance of lovely food and drink + open reception area to mingle and talk and round table setup for the main meal. Will 100% recommend and go back.
