The path itself is fine, with benches along the way, but the scenery is not so pleasing. I don’t know the tide times, but when I walked in the afternoon, the tide must have been low and for quite a while there was just gunk, mud, and yucky looking and smelling stuff until I got further to the east and I finally saw water with boats, which was more pleasant. Also, the view across the bay is industrial with what are most likely pollutants spewing into the air. It was relatively clean, especially considering that my walk to get to the start of this on the west end was full of litter all the way.
One of the best walks in Dublin. Lots of interesting details. A scattering of shelters in case the weather turns. As beautiful as it is on a summer day it’s just as beautiful on bad weather days with the waves crashing over the sea wall. Although it’s important to keep some distance as the odd high wave might leave you completely soaked.
Offering lovely views across the port of Dublin, the Clontarf Promenade is really nice spot to while a away a few hours. It is very easy to walk along and is wide enough for everyone to get pass each other with no issues. For history buffs there are also detailed explanations of what happened in different areas of the surrounding area to make the Dublin we know today.
A scenic shared space for all to relax, exercise, or congregate..old part of Dublin, fresh air, green grass, and beach nearby. High-quality restaurants, chippers, cafés and shops surrounding..city centre in proximity. Dart line serves.. perfect spot for a picnic
Been walking here all my life and very little has changed Dublin city council will resist putting money into any part of the northside at all costs. Some of it has been done up but only parts it really could do with a bit of investment considering how much surrounding areas use it for walking, exercise and cycling.
Lovely spot to just sit and watch the world go by.
Pleasant place for walking and biking. Very popular track for cyclists. Don't miss the sunset, you will come again and again.
As you stroll along the waterfront you might mistake it for Ipanema beach. Yes, if it 20 degrees warmer, and there was some sand visible and you took away the oil refinery and added some bikinis.... It's uncanny! But seriously, we are lucky to have an amenity like this on our doorstep.
The Clontarf has unique and amazing views. It's a great place to meet up for lunch with that special someone, groups of people, or even go solo. Many meet for fitness classes, yoga, and even a place for me to stretch after long journeys of cycling. It will restore the fun of being out in the open outdoors that many have forgotten to enjoy‍
A favourite walk morning till evening ... sun over the sea or city ... even the industry of the port adds to it in a weird way ... a good few places to get food and other refreshments.
