2nd time here and enjoyed our meal very much. Had the beef burger and the chicken burger and both were done really well The staff was as great as usual, made sure that we had water for our Little Dog, brought him out a few dog biscuits and were attentive, helpful and everything that you would want wait staff to be ... We would go back again - we felt that it was good value, well presented and accompanied by great staff Our Little Dog enjoying the view from the booth where he got to watch the world going by ...
Went here for New Year’s Eve early dinner, the food was mediocre and the service appalling. 25 mins to take our order when we’d asked for a minute or two more. We were also put at an awful table with patio chairs for some reason whilst the restaurant beside was empty. We had to ask to be moved. I was so happy to see French oinion soup on the menu but it wasn’t hot enough. Very disappointing overall, lots of staff but possibly no one managing? I wouldn’t bother returning, we’d been here before and it was really good, very disappointing.
Great service, very comfortable, friendly and stylish. Steak was more medium than medium-rare but still delicious, would ask for rare next time. Sticky toffee pudding burnt on bottom but very quickly replaced. Portion sizes just right. Meal was delicious. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend. Parking: Loads of parking including disabled spaces nearer to front door
I had a really good starter, really tasty but I had the roast beef on a Sunday and it was really bland. It was tough, I asked for medium rare and it came well done like an old boot, the gravy was watery, no Yorkshire pudding and the veg was a bit simple. I would have liked to have seen maybe some braised red cabbage, cauliflower cheese too. I could have made something better at home.
Had the early bird menu on Saturday evening. One word...... FANTASTIC!!! would highly recommend the pork belly. Service was also first class and the atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend everyone to try the Alchemy you won't be disappointed!Food: 5/5
Our meal on Sunday was not great very disappointed on previous visits. 1 of the roast beef dinners came out with no gravy the 3 slices of roast beef were dry and rolled at the edges. We did ask for gravy and got it but our friend had been put off at that stage and did not eat it. My granddaughters chicken goujons were beautiful. We did not complain as the staff were really lovely.
Called last Sunday 11 of us for my dad's 75th birthday and have to say we were all very disappointed with the food. The Turkey an Ham dinners especially. The Ham was no bigger than a 50p coin. One plate had no stuffing at all. The gravy and pepper sauce with the meals where just like water. We were given free desserts with the Turkey dinners after we complained the Chocolate brownie was like the road, rock hard. Overall very disappointed and to think we spent over £250 we left as soon as dinner was done as so bad or we would have stayed on longer.
We enjoyed a beautiful meal in The Alchemy. Food, service and decor was excellent. What a beautiful experience. Will definetly be back again soon.
The food was great and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed.would recommend it to my friends and family. Thank you really enjoyed our night out. Parking: Plenty of spaces
Worst fillet steak I've ever had or seen ! Asked me how I liked it , I said medium and it came out burnt as hell itself, my partners meal was overdone also and bit cold , I looked across the table at other diners and I think they were having the same problems, I use to come here often for a nice meal when it was named the Tannery , and the fillet and hanger steaks they served were divine , I've had a birthday meal there with friends I've took my parents for nice meals also when it was the Tannery but after that fiasco recently I'll never be back , I ordered a 36£ fillet steak and it was terrible , I've never seen a peice of meat killed twice before untill they placed the burnt offering before me , the hanger steaks that used to be served here would shame that fillet cut any day and at half the price , Definitely will not be back here again,
