Stunning and intimate National Trust property. The family still reside here so limited opening times as the family obviously want to enjoy and preserve their home. Limited car parking spaces - mostly on grass. Toilets available however I didn’t see any wheelchair friendly toilets but I might have missed them!…wonderful gardens …highly recommend this lovely place
It is a lovely place to visit. Open 3 times a week. Stewards are really friendly and they are good story tellers. I learnt a lot about the history of the house and about the items displayed there. Sadly the hedges are infested with and destroyed by box hedge caterpillars and moths.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Lovely historic house, outside and in , knowledgeable guides with lots of info and stories. Fascinating for curious adults not so sure about kids. Gardens on steep terraces at back, beautifully kept. Cafe and toilets in grounds.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
A lovely place for a visit. One of those beautiful houses maintained by the national trust for us to enjoy. Lots of parking and a cafe. Gardens and woods to explore. Don't forget to get National Trust membership.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Such a quaint smaller Nat Trust. Some lovely finds within the house with a beautiful garden to explore or soak up the sun. Great little stop on a Sunday afternoon. Cafe here too, which is always a win!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
You can enter the house, on a timed entry card you get when you go to Reception, from 2pm onwards using the opening times of April 2024. I arrived 15 minutes earlier. The gates were open, and so was the cafe in the parking area. It's a good idea to get there relatively early, because the car park fills quickly. The parking spaces are in grass, but the surface wasn't bumpy where I parked. The cafe offerings are very basic, besides a reasonable range of coffees served in disposable cups tgat you drink st outside tables. I've posted the menu slate for reference. The house dates from the 14th century, with much demolition and building in the subsequent centuries. There is an unusual and striking, if somewhat gaudy, collection of ceramics. Worth a visit. The grounds seem quite compact at first glance, but are quite extensive, with charming zigzag pathways. Update: I visited again in July 2024 and noticed a few details I'd missed. Including this was a knuckleduster, presumably one of many, that the vicar handed out to his parishioners, in case a marauding bunch of puritan types came round to tear their church decorations down. I've added a pic of that here.
Pleasant way to spend an hour or 2. Property is quite small compared to most NT places but still interesting with some lovely touches.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Been there before, nice day out, lovely coffee and you can spend some time on the beach after
A medieval manor house and 18th-century terraced garden with views of the Mendip Hills, this National Trust property is well worth a visit but check the website as it's not always open. We planned a visit to Tyntesfield just down the road, another cracking National Trust property, and just happened to look at what else was about and found Clevedon Court - I'm glad we did - a lovely property with a beautiful garden and an interesting glass collection!
I can't think of a better afternoon spent. Stunning gardens & grounds & stewards that made the house come to life!! The X6 & X7 go straight to Clevedon Court from the bus stop on Elton road Clevedon. I've never seen so many dragon flys, so busy about their work on a day where I have none most relaxing!! The atmosphere & surroundings most certainly make it a place I wish to return one day!!
