We went here recently because we live nearby and were delighted to have tried it out. It’s a small space with limited opening hours, so you might have to book well in advance. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was nice and calm. This is a sister restaurant to Bastible, and while there are similarities, there are also a tonne of differences. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys tasting menus and trying new foods and combos.
I know everybody and their brother has reviewed this place, but I’m gonna give it one more very positive review and include photos of creative and well matched items. We were fascinated and enjoyed the complete menu. The only thing that went a bit too far was the chocolate mousse with multiple other things in included in it. The mousse itself was excellent and would’ve been better left alone. Bravo!!!
This was such a nice hidden place to find! You have to reserve and the dishes change monthly. the course is a slow paced dinner so a lot of time to catch up with friends but beware if you have plans afterwards! The full tasting course took almost 2.5 hours 6:30 until 9pm~
Charming local restaurant! Our lovely server was very knowledgeable about the wine menu and offered her recommendations. We opted for a Sardinian red which was very interesting and easy to drink. The food as a whole was well thought out and you can tell the chefs know flavour. The scallops were cooked to perfection and my dining partner was very impressed with her fallow deer. The only let down sadly was the cheeseboard... Neither of us enjoyed the oatcakes and would have preferred a crisp cracker but that could be a personal preference. Also the apple jelly wasn't a crowd pleaser for us. Overall it was an enjoyable visit and I would wholeheartedly recommend.
A must visit dining experience in the heart of Dublin. The food is refined and warming to the soul. A tasty experience for anyone looking to venture outside their culinary palette. The friendly staff make the cozy setting a wonderful place to dine for two or four people. If you’re visiting Dublin for the weekend make sure to book a reservation in advance, you don’t want to miss out! Cheers!
A delight from start to finish: spellbinding food with a bill that doesn't punch you in the face. Service was attentive without being fussy; extremely knowledgeable with no hint of pretention. Fine dining, but with realistic portions - will undoubtedly be coming back as soon as humanly possible.Food: 5/5
Enjoyed our tasting menu evening, with special mention to their Negroni. Would have preferred a table in the restaurant rather than at their front window counter facing busy road.
The food here is of very high quality. As a treat we began with a single delicious oyster which was perfectly presented on the shell . Starters for both of us was cuttlefish with cherry tomatoes. We stuck with the seafood theme for mains with perfectly cooked halibut served with coco beans. For wine we had a bottle of Vina Cabillo Rioja which was fine. We would usually finish with coffee and brandy but unfortunately they don't have a spirit license. Service was impeccable. Highly recommended.
One of the best restaurants in Dublin. Food was amazing, the staff were very friendly an knowledgeable. Great selection of wine. Small and cozy atmosphere help to enhance the overall experience Would recommend 100% for any special occasion you want to celebrate.
Amazing place! The flavors were so vibrant but also very balanced. My wife is gluten and dairy free, and we gave them notice. They were able to accommodate her diet and she had a fantastic time too! Very skilled to make adjustments to your menu in that way. Highly recommend.
