Nice shop, different things on sale comparative to other supermarkets. Friendly staff.
If you like your welcomes unfriendly and ever so slightly xenophobic …….this is the shop for younOn a very rare and recent revisit, despite the refit the staff are still mostly standoffish and abrupt devoid of personality and people skills the only exception being the Irish fella who is pleasant and engaging, avoid the refrigerated meats unless you like dinner to be Russian roulette some days you can visibly see the meat is the wrong colour, it’s only saving grace used to be the bakery but thats now hit and miss as to being over baked dry and the amount of salt in the sausage rolls is defo more salt than actual sausage . And top it all actually seems more expensive than the coop and won’t be long before it’s as overpriced as the spar shop
I wanted to pick up some freshly baked products like it used to make on site only to find out that the store is now a glorified corner shop with no on site baking/butcher/fresh veg. Shame.
Custard slices are amazing. Bread made in store is also really good
Had lovely service last week from the Baker who was helpful, cheerful and polite. I then asked a bloke which I later found out to be the store manager a question to be greeted with someone who didn't know when the product was coming in. He was very scruffy, unshaven, stains on his clothes and had a very strong unwashed and smoke odour. Not a good look when the manager of a store presents himself like this.... The bread however was fresh and delicious.
