We booked the gin distilling experience at the City of London Distillery. It was amazing!! Max explained the art of gin distillation to us and recommended, how we use the knowledge to distill our own. You take your personalized gin back home with you to enjoy. Since you always end up with more than one bottle, you take your leftovers to the bar, where they mix it with tonic for you. Thank you, we will be back!
Bought the gin tour as a gift and was blown away by how good it was, especially for the price. Really friendly staff that answered all our questions. The 5 taster gins for £20 was a great way to try lots of flavours without having to buy a big bottle. Would recommend!
We went to have a tour of the distillery and tasting on a Saturday evening. Very chilled and relaxing atmosphere. The experience included 1 welcome drink, 4 different gins with tonic and the tour. Very friendly and polite staff.
GREAT EXPERIENCE. Our “make your own gin” event was amazing. Supposed to be 2 hours; lasted 3 hours with our group of 6. Tasted a few different flavors then got to make our own and bring home a 700ml bottle. Max was so much fun and informative. HIGHLY recommend it!!!!
We visited the bar and enjoyed some gin cocktails and a gin tonic. The variety of flavoured gins was huge so we asked for a recommendation. The barkeeper was very friendly and helpful and her recommendations were great. A great gimmick was the view at the distillery.
Came for the gin tour which was bought for me as a gift. An interesting and informative couple of hours and a great way to experience new gins and see the stills up close. We will be back for a G&T soon.
Really enjoyed our gin tasting experience. Highly recommend it! Also the bar was really nice and great place to hang out.
The ‘Make Your Own Gin Experience’ at the home of ‘Whitely Neill Gin’ is an interesting hands on guided adventure for gin lovers who would like to understand in more detail the distillation process of this spirit. It was the only one of the four distilleries in London that I visited to offer this experience and you come away with a bottle of your own, roughly 40%abv, bottle of gin. You will get to choose from a good selection 18 botanicals, weigh them in the suggested proportions, add them to 50%abv NGS, distill the mixture in a cute one litre still, collect the distillate, dilute and bottle. You get to name and label your own bottle as well as wax seal it. The server at the bar will also make you a cocktail of your choice using some of your own ‘left over’ gin after bottling. It wasn’t the ‘warmest’ experience I have had during my many distillery visits around the world but very worthwhile for getting a feel of the rather simple gin making process. The craft, of course lies in understanding the botanicals, their interaction with each other, the alcohol and the water. All quite fun!
This is a really interesting and informative tour of a local gin distillery. The gin is stilled in a room adjacent to the bar and you get a chance to look at the stills on the tour. The guide takes you through the history of gin and adds good humour as he takes you through the different guns made on the site. Plenty of tasting and opportunity to try the gin following the tour. The bar is also open for a relaxing gin based drink, and merchandise is available to purchase.
Wide array of gin which is why i went in. Was pleasantly surprised to see partnerships with a whisky distiller too. Staff is friendly and hard working. Would love to come back for the tour
