I have studied in this College for 3 years. When I first started studying in this college I had no communication skills at all. At that time I was Entry 1 and there was an amazing teacher called Charlene. Although I had shy personality, she helped me gain self confidence and gave me lots of homeworks and that helped me alot and improved the way I speak. There are Jim and Karen and Rachel, there were all amazing teachers. I absolutely recommend this College.
I studied level 3 Hairdressing at Southampton college this year. The course was hands on and really helped enhance my skillset and knowledge within hairdressing. The salon being open to the public was so helpful when completing our assessments. Louise and Debbie were the best tutors, I’ve learnt lots from them, both friendly and encouraging even if you felt unconfident stepping outside your comfort zone, they uplifted everyone on the course. They are a credit to the college, even when there’s sometimes two classes mixed into one. They do their best to ensure you’re supported. Thank you Louise and Debbie x
It would not be entirely true to say that I glided through college with guilded wings. But I was extremely fortunate to have a lot of people supporting me. When I was at the college studying cookery and food & beverages service the building still had a new feel to its modern Anglo french architectural design. While inside the building the extra large kitchen was full of commercial ovens and food preparation apparatus. Cupboards, shelves and worktops were punctuated with plenty of very big sinks for regular washing of the numerous pots, pans, containers and utensils. As I gradually became acquainted with the procedures. I found the college a totally invaluable experience. Although I have since studied other subjects including, corporate hospitality, financial services, home improvements, training and education services, commercial sales and marketing. Hopefully I will never forget my catering education which I was very lucky to be supported by helpful and friendly staff
04.09.2024. Horrible and racist customer service. Despite being there within schedule, my family was pushed back in the queue to register for TWO AND A HALF HOURS whilst non-black families were getting attention and being served before them. As an educator of more than 5 years in this industry, this is extremely disgusting to hear about. Organisations who preaches about diversity and inclusion within their communities, is this how you treat people in general, let alone your future students?
I studied childcare early years/ level 1&2 here back in 2010-2012. I got distinctions which I’m happy with and it was a great course but what is a disappointment is that the government changed the qualification system, two years later and now to get a job at a primary school I’d have to do it all again PLUS level 3, which is working with older kids and elderly in care homes this was never mandatory before!. I’m not interested in doing this level as my dad used to run a care home 1997-2015 in his own property 2 people with learning disabilities and as I used to help I’ve already got years of experience which the college knew about but not officially on paper. I also was told by my local primary school that I used to attend that I would have to also partake in a first aid course and health and safety course every 18 months - 2 years near London nothing paid for, you have to provide own transport and accommodation to actually be employed because of the rule change! So I did all that at college for nothing! The college must’ve known about the upcoming rule change and never said anything??? It’s so sad as now I cannot work where I’ve always wanted to work, at a primary school as a teaching assistant. And because all the colleges and uni’s have turned woke, I’d never consider being educated in any of them again as I’m against all this woke nonsense! so I’m kinda 50/50 on recommending any college or uni nowadays as it’s all changed….if you don’t mind that at the end of the course your qualifications could end up being useless and you like all this woke business, then yeah, go ahead, if not, then nope, I don’t recommend.
Clean and friendly environment. I like a lot my teachers. Many thanks to teacher Colin BrownEsol,PawelEDS,Juliet Harold Maths.
They never ever pick up the phone or reply back to the emails with queries! Very disappointing!
Was a model for my friend who is doing a barbering course I'm very happy with my cut and it was free
Worst teachers, even staff only cares about attendance and stuff, they won't care about your mental health. It's awful! I am deaf, they are no supporter at all. Even students are disrespectful and horrible. I recommend, not to go
AAT Level 2&3 - if you get Maureen as a your teacher, cancel or appeal for another teacher. She is rude, sarcastic in a patronising way and importantly her teaching methods simply don’t work for the majority. She just reads from the same book you pay for, tells you the answers without explaining how to work out the answers yourself. Reads extremely quickly and I as well as my peers often requested her to repeat to which she huffed and puffed. Do not recommend her in the slightest.
