The food is delicious. One of the best Mexican restaurants : it is a cozy place too, which makes it so much easier to just stay and eat a bit more :P
Cielo Blanco is in a great location - Exmouth Market - and has a fun vibe. Relaxed, casual, comfortable restaurant with more-authentic-than-not Mexican decor. It's not Tex-Mex, please note, but Oaxaca cuisine. The food isn't outstanding but suffices for a UK attempt at this cuisine. We ordered the Street Food Experience - 6 small plates to share. It's more than enough for 2 people to share. The highlight is the Al Pastor Pork and the Chicken Tinga. For a starter we got the Queso Fundido; it's way too oily and heartburn-inducing. Cielo has a great selection of Mexican beers and fantastic service. I'd recommend this place for a happy hour or light bites but it's still not close to the real thing.
Staff very hospitable and very accomodating. Was expecting a super fruit juice, but glass filled with ice and tasted of passion fruit cordial not the mango and pineapple that was expected. For £16.95 a head sharing the seafood platter, I guess you're paying for the great music and vibe. Not much food to share. Platter seemed strange with totilla wraps but nothing to wrap in them?? Luckily I ate my wife's portion of the spiced food otherwise I'd go home hungry. Stick to the Greek restaurant if you want good seafood in the area.
Nice interior and music. Love the skylight that gives the place its name. Menu a bit hit and miss. Get the beef mole!
Good and abundant Mexican food. Nice service and quite environment.
Nice bright and colorful new addition to Exmouth market but was disappointed with the food. It was pleasant but have had better and more tasty Mexican dishes elsewhere. We ordered a variety of the street food plates but most seemed to come slathered with the same sauce which made it very samey and showed a lack of finesse/inventiveness in the kitchen. The place was about 2/3 full but the service was seriously slow. But they kept topping us up tortilla chips and dips which helped keep the hunger pangs at bay.
Excellent food and staff. We had a lovely family evening sat around the large olive tree table. Staff were very attentive and catered very well to our group of 15 people who were aged from 11 to 75.
Everything on the menu is decent. The platters are good value for money and plenty of food for two. They have a "hidden" cocktail bar downstairs and often run half price 1st drink when you eat in the restaurant.
We got the tacos option and there was SO much food for such a reasonable price! Between three people it's perfect. It came super quickly we had an hour before the ballet. The best were the crispy fresh fish tacos!
Brilliant location, fantastic sharing menu with plenty of tasty options including vegetarian choices. I've been a couple of times and my friends have all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend eating here. Booking is essential.
