Beautiful place. Was there for the queen's memorial after her death. Very silent and respectful place. A great spot when visiting the bridge and surroundings.
Great place to be. Just that if you are a new comer or have been going there for years, people will walk past you as though you don't exist at all. Young adults are lost somewhere between Anglican and be the wanna be charismatic. Dozens of people will walk past you, not even making eye contact, until you happen to create a conversation. It's a cultural thing. On one side, you have 50+ and 60+ olds who love to talk to newcomers in the church. On the other hand, the 20+ and the 30+ choose their tribe consciously. Give yourself a year or two before you join a group and slowly make friends. And then you will find yourself talking to the same people every Sunday and you forget that you dont talk to new faces. Be a mystery worshipper and figure out yourself. Or come and challenge me if you disagree. Very long way to change the culture. To me, the change has to come from top to bottom. Not one person entering the church should leave the building without having spoken to anyone in the building. Unfortunately, this does happen here. A charming, humourous, and very knowledgable vicar and his warm welcoming wife oh, she is Irish, loud, lively, lovely will greet you for sure if you are new in the building. Be prepared to be that seed that grows past a rock if you want to make friends. Other than that, it's a church where you can contribute time and talent. Children's church under Ruthy is the best part of the church. She can really engage with the children, whether you are visiting the church or a regular, your child will have fun and learn something new every Sunday. Internationals Team, do their best to work their way to reach out to new students and foreigners who come to Bristol. Do these foreign students or workers successfully merge with the crowd, read my review from start all over again. Coffee shop, 7Cakes with a children's play area is a great place to get a good coffee and yummy cakes. Been going to this church since 2017. Love it. If you are not looking for a perfect church, this one is for you. Or you can go to the other churches in the city who spend a lot of effort to just put a big display, but don't need your help.
Very beautiful church situated in a great Clifton location. The building is very tall and seen from far away. The architecture is exquisite Gothic style with remarkable arched windows and doors. There is a small green park just across the street. The overall impression of the area is very pleasing.
Loved the Clifton Literary Fest here. We enjoyed three very different things. All well prepared and full of insights. Well done and thanks to all involved.
Such architecture.... Just a marvel
Visited the cafe at the church. Amazing coffee & cakes. Courteous & attentive service from lovely staff. Very well supported judging by the number of customers at the time of our visit. Handy location.
God lives in the church and Jesus lived in the church too
Lovely church, large and has all the facilities you could need and beautiful decor. Nice friendly staff.
Traditional Church of England church, with whitewashed interior and modern stained-glass windows
