Chiltern Aquatics

I have been using Chiltern for the last 3 years, when I first visited a tested there knowledge with a couple of trick questions about putting wrong fish together. I am pleased to report they know there stuff and passed my test. I recently had to visit as I had a issue with Aquatic plants . So pleased the product sold worked better than I thought. This store is a little gem ,I don't agree on them being expensive the treatments I buy are 20% more online .i am sure perhaps some are more than online but lets support small businesses . If you want honest advice and great service then go to Harlington .

One of the best aquatics shops around. Staff are very helpful and not at all pushy. They have a great range of tanks, equipment, and fish plus plenty of knowledge to answer anything you could want to know. Highly recommend this place for beginners looking to get into fish keeping too. If I had to criticise then the building could do with a bit of work and some more verify in certain areas would be nice but that is only a very minor gripe and certainly doesn't deserve to loose them a star.

Well stocked, with everything you could ask for. Great shop layout, lots of interesting aquariums. So far spoken with 3 members of staff regarding cold water fish, aquariums, bog wood, rocks, and plants, all staff were very helpful giving clear useful information without trying to over sell. I go weekly for live food, and any other items I need.

I was very upset after my experience at this shop. My boyfriend and myself decided we wanted to set up a fish tank. We tried to research information before hand but just wanted some clarification on what we can and can't do with fish. We decided to come here and ask for some advice. We approached a member of staff who obviously didn't want to help at all. We felt like because we didn't know enough we were being laughed at. We gained no knowledge and left feeling humiliated! On the plus side they are very well equipped and have a vast choice. However if you are not an expert already this isn't the place to go.

The customer service was rubbish only 1 person out the shop who was willing to help no tank had any gravel or anything in . I brought some bits from them to set up a tank witch we found leaking we tried everything to seal but just was having it so the next day i rang these guys to find me a tank on its own with there reply they can they dont sell them that way. I rang all shops in Bedfordshire area and only one was able to help and that was near sandy . Now the point that really annoyed me was my heater died after i brought a new tank heater was new I rang the the shop to get nothing but attiude from the owner. So took heater back and as i walked in the shop i find the tank we just brought from another shop waiting for someone to collect. Now that's a joke and that's not the best bit there a bloody fish tank on it own for sale across from the desk where the phone is so i was more than angry. Fish dont look great not much choice I could probs put these in same league as pets at home with the idea of customer service and fish care This place need some serious sort out even more so with staff and owner

Good range of products at a decent price, customer service is ok up to very good depending on who you get but all very knowledgeable. Fish all look in good condition as do the plants, would definitely recommend a visit.

Well stocked with a good range of aquariums. Bought a great tank, good price. I did have one minor problem but it got resolved quickly, can't ask for more than that - thanks guys :

Rob at Chiltern aquatics has a great variety of all sorts of freshwater and saltwater fish, a lifetime of knowledge and experience and you can really tell fish keeping is his passion. I keep African cichlids which anyone can tell you is a minefield for simple mistakes but rob is an expert and has never once let me down. This is also a brilliant place to go for tanks, filters, food and the like.

If i could put no stars i would! Fish look awful, tanks dirty, shop not much better. As for customer service, well... literally none, owner is arrogant, staff dont have a clue and in general rude, my 5 year old son asked a member of staff a question to get the most rude and abrupt answer ever leaving him quite upset, someone that can speak to a customer and child in that manner should never been in a shop around customers. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SHOP IF IT WAS THE LAST EVER ONE OPEN

The woman at the checkout desk was very rude and unhelpful gives you funny looks as well On the other hand Rob the fish guy is by far the best ! Only reason why I go there ! Very good shop with by far the best selection of fish and top quality, just the owner needs to match the reputation of the shop !
