Chillies West End
"Chillies West End is the home of award-winning Asian cuisineLike our food, Chillies West End is a slick, innovative interpretation of an Indian restaurant, nestled between the city centre and the West End on the bustling Woodlands Road in Glasgow. You won’t find over-starched, white tablecloths here – nor naff Bengali tigers sketched on the walls. What you will find is hallal flavour by the handi load.Since 2008 we’ve stamped our own seasoning on Glasgow’s Indian cuisine ; our tapas style of serving allows us to cater equally well for both gorgers and grazers. We’re confident, too, in our ability to indulge your tastes; whether it’s authentic desi cooking you crave or innovative, fusion creations."

People, often myself - forget that this is one of Glasgows great restaurants. Just because you don’t have the food bloggers saying about this hidden gem doesn’t mean it isn’t a real gem. Got a Mixed Grill with Curry Rice & Garlic Naan from here. Genuinely one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was marinated and cooked to perfection, 10/10 would highly recommend & will be returning again soon. Also the staff are really nice & friendly. Edit : Got 3 weeks later again, can’t honestly admit it was just as good.
Normally when you go to an Indian restaurant, you would feel bad ordering a pizza - at Chillies I'd say you absolutely should not. The Chillies special pizza is firstly an excellent pizza, with all the satisfaction of that, plus an incredibly well judged mix of their trademark flavours. Thoroughly recommend.Food: 5/5
Not worth the price at all. Ordered a delivery and not even an apology for being late. Food was cold and stale. Portion sizes are tiny and to charge £1.50 for a tub of sauce that contains best part of 3 teaspoons is unsatisfactory. Once a great place but now a shadow of its former self.Food: 2/5
Me and some friends got a takeaway and was disappointed. Paneer Karahi had far too much salt and masala, very overpowering and could barely eat it. Donner meat was ok but needs cooked more. Did not enjoy the pizza either, not enough meat and also had a weird aftertaste. Unfortunately most of my meal went in the bin. I find this place to be very over priced for the quality of the good, £43 for a small pizza, some Donner meat, a curry and rice.. I wouldn't mind paying this if it was nice but unfortunately it wasn't and I won't be ordering from here again.
I don't live in Glasgow but I make a point of eating here when visiting the city. In short, I love this place. Really great food and service. I would really recommend eating here. No alcohol is served but you can bring your own bottle and they will provide glasses. Again best spiced food in Scotland.Food: 5/5
Booked Chillies for a big group of 14 and had the whole area up the back to ourselves. The food is always exceptional at Chillies and it was no different on this occasion, the butter chicken is one of the best in Glasgow, it’s the perfect ratio of creaminess and spice. I find that Chillies is also great value and the portions are really generous! The service was great, Atal and his team were wonderful, thank you for such a lovely evening, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all! Also it’s BYOB and they allow you to put drinks in the fridge which is a cheeky bonus!
Everything here is very delicious! The Gulab Jamun which is a milk-solid-based Indian sweet was amazing! It tasted like maple syrup.
The food was alright, but the restaurant always seems to be understaffed. Recently when I visited this place, there was only one person handling the entire service, and previously there were only two staff members doing the same, despite being a very busy weekend. I doubt if they treat the staff well, it seems like they are exploiting them. I am assuming they are short staffing on purpose. Both the food and service has room for improvement.
Waited well over an hour and a half for my delivery only to receive a chicken burger that was somehow both burnt and undercooked. Contacted Chillies and received an email back, which only acknowledged the delay in delivery, and asking for my phone number to resolve this issue. I promptly sent them my number as requested but I am still waiting for a response over a month later. Edit: The owner of Chillies contacted me, apologised for the service I received and offered me a meal on the house. This has been very much appreciated and I will update my review accordingly once I have returned.
This meal was undoubtedly in my top 3 Indian’s ever! Everything from the spicy poppadom with the onion and chilli on top to the delicious curries, was super fresh you can watch them preparing them in the kitchen!. The biryani was sensational with lovely crispy onion on top. Tapas Indian food is such a great idea as I never know what to have. It encourages a nice sharing atmosphere and each curry tasted different. We ordered 6 main dishes between four which was plenty. In total, with sundries and popadoms the meal cost £13 each!!! Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more highly.
