Brilliant curry, good value set meals, speedy delivery. If I want a curry delivered this is the place I call. The Kashmiri curry is amazing full of wonderful flavours including banana! The set menu is great and I've never had a dish from here I didn't enjoy. Chicken masala is not part of the set menu but is available for an extra quid or so, as with a prawn curry but this is around an extra 3 bucks and I'd say not worth it. The best thing about this place is the delivery which is always on time and the food is invariably at the perfect temperature. They do all the standard soft drinks of course but nothing beats a can of Irn Bru with a take away :
Great value indian food, well cooked and all the classic recipes that you'll likely be looking for. The set meal is a great value choice, comes with all the stuff you'd want like your choice of nan or rice with popadoms, spicey onions, chutney etc all in the bag. The mains on the set menus are ones you'd expect like Madras etc but if you'd like an unusual one they'll do it for a quid extra. Delivery times are fast enough, it's popular so can be busy at dinner time.
Good indian takeaway located in Newington. I love a good curry, and this place is perhaps not the best Indian food in Edinburgh, but it is speedy and very reasonable. The food is tasty and they offer a good student discount. Food is ready to collect in just 10-15 minutes and the naan is scrummy!
I was introduced to this only recently, after years of driving past thinking it looked tacky and 'studenty'. Forgive me! It's a great little delivery place, does a great set menu if you are wanting an assortment of foods, and oh my the dansak curry is something special! They run a delivery service and you can order online too, so all very easy for those lazy, lazy hungover, in need of a curry nights!
I recently ordered a mix of things when I had friends round. We got pakora starters chicken and vegetable, a chilli hot spicy pizza, Aloo Gosht with basmati rice for me and the inevitable chips & cheese for the awkward one. The seasoning in the vegetable pakora was very good and both pakoras were nice and crisp. The pizza was cooked well and as expected. The Aloo Ghost was superb. The lamb was cooked perfectly, the potato was nice and soft, the balance of spices was good and the curry was not saturated in oil. I did not partake in the chips and cheese. All in it was cooked well, the food was hot, it was good value and it was well received. I'd definitely return to try the other curries.
I must have said something to annoy them because they tried to kill me with vast quantities of delicious curry at excellent prices. The set meals will keep you going for days.
Absolutely Amazing, like it was made for really fussy and or picky eaters they cater to everyone , Its just a shame its been closed for a while
